That doesn't make any sense though. Why would the same publisher release a region free game on PS3 and the same one region locked on 360? The PS3 is region free, because the Blu Ray region for the US and Japan is the same, so asshole publishers have to do something to block that.Quote:

I've read that bit about MS charging for certification on a per region basis. Microsoft does not publically comfirm the policy but it's almost certainly true, what with all of the unofficial developer commentary on neogaf. It's similar to the way everyone knows that companies take a 30% cut from DD sales but it's very hard to get official documentation.

Almost all the US games are region free. Remember that I had only a J360 for roughly two years. The one I remember being annoyed wasn't region free was Deadly Premonition.
I only have trouble with Rock Band and the occasional Games on Demand sale. Everything works fine on my J360.
Deadly Premonition is terrible; I wouldn't miss that game.
