It's funny to think this would be a better game if the devs had put less effort into it.
Hating on this game has got to be one of the most irrational things you can do, internet style.
Maybe you don't like it personally, but it's a great remake of a NES game. Keeps much of the original intact, but adds more structure to the levels. Tons of difficulty options, everyone should find a level they can enjoy the game at. The graphics and sound are an incredible homage to fans of the cartoon. Redone music- but guess what, you can go back to 8 bit if you prefer, it's all there. Added an actual story, but also gave people a way to skip cutscenes. They wanted everyone to be able to enjoy this game and appreciate the style and IP- and people just bitch and bitch and bitch.
Take a step back and appreciate the work and effort of other humans even if it isn't tailor made for you.
The game had to be what it was. They weren't going to release something that ignored all the duck tails fans that never had a nes.
OMG HIPPY.
I see it more as "I thought something wasn't going to be for me when it came out, and buying it on extreme sale proves that was actually correct!"
The original game existing doesn't let this game off the hook, I'm afraid.

I think the character art is great, the controls are very responsive (weren't broken originally, but the easy pogo is nice), more complicated boss fights are great... and just about anything else they added didn't contribute to making the game better.
Money bin was cool, though. :D
I miss the spacebar "What the hell is this?" glitch after boss fights.
It's an excellent remake. It was made just for me as a fan of both the NES game and the cartoon.
Best option that should be retroactively added: automatically skip cutscenes, but show dialogue windows where they exist in the NES game.
Easy. Probably easier to see now then when the voices were being planned during development, though.
There is an option retroactively added to automatically skip cutscenes.
No dialogue windows though.
I don't mind the visuals, but I was pretty shocked at how jarring the cutscenes were. I didn't realize there was an option to skip them.
