The music sounds nice
Here is a video:

They NSMB-ized LTTP. This just looks horrendous.
Let's see how much stuff we throw at the screen WOAHHHH THREEE DEEEEE
Everything looks burnt.
Everything tastes like ashes in our horrible future.
I just hope it doesn't have stylus controls. I'll play it.
This looks excellent. You guys sure do cry a lot.
I'm definitely seeing the NSMB-ization (the enemies even look like they're bouncing to a beat), but fuck it, it's a top-down Zelda that's not based on touchscreen gimmickry. All over it.
Watched the vid on my phone, looks good to me as long as the dungeon design is good. Kid Link voice needs to die.
Yeah... It has a really bland shitty art style. If you're going for a shitty late 90s chic, at least do it like Skip where it's an interesting shitty.
The NSMB games (at least all of them besides the first one) look good in motion, at least better than ugly Mario World and every All-Stars and Mario Advance game. This still looks just as poopy in motion.
I dunno, I don't really like the plasticky graphics and reliance on nostalgia, and the wall-walking gimmick is stupid. Making it look like a game I like doesn't really make it look like a game I'll like.
Wall-walking looks interesting. It's a good elemental gimmick. I wonder if it's part of his gear.
I'm not completely sold on the art style, but it's a sequel to LTTP so I'm interested. I think the Wall walking mechanic could be interesting, and it's not going to have shitty stylus controls so that's damn good.
Can you point to an example cause I've watched it a few times and it just looks like the enemies are moving around I don't see any bouncing to a beat.
Maybe he means the green cucumber enemies that always wobbled?
I don't think Zelda music is especially suited for the bwah bwah treatment.
If that's what he meant they've always kind of wobbled like that, and it's not like they were moving in sync either. Totally agree Zelda's music doesn't really match with the enemies dancing to a beat bwah bwah shit.
Bwah bwaaaaaaah bwa bwa bwa bwa bwa bwaaaaa (bwa bwa) bwa bwaaaaaaa (bwa) bwa bwa bwa bwa bwa b-bwa (bwaaaa) b-bwa bwa bwa bwaaaa (bwa) b-bwa bwa bwa bwaaaaa (bwa) bwa bwa bwa bwaaaa, bwa bwa (bwa bwa bwaaaa)
I kind of liked the NSMB's bwa-bwa and think this game looks nice aesthetically. The movement and attack speed look off, though. LttP had great swordfeel. This looks to perhaps not.

Stolen from Neogaf thought some might find it interesting.
lol.
Ninnovation
I imagine it was originally a remake and then someone said, "Let's make this a little different since we've been remaking Zeldas left and right." Especially since they said as much way back when.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past-2 Lightning Zelda Returns
Those graphics really are funky. It looks like LoZ as interpreted by Playmobil.
Yeah, the art looks like shit, but I'll buy it when it gets cheap.
That whole Paper Zelda rumor from a year ago makes sense with drawing part of this.
What is the issue with the image above? The video stated that it was the same game world. It's only fair to assume there will be areas that are the same.
CSI: Nintendo
Oh I agree. My comments were directed at the couple of posts following your image post.
Link 2 the Past
If this ends up being really good, it would probably be the only game that could maybe get me to buy a portable again.... just maybe.
ZZ Top down Zelda
I got 25 rupees on my dresser, yes sir
I gots to get paid!
Bout to break the vase, then break 25 mo?
I'm interested in this.~
Does the "~" indicate a negation?
It looks so bad, and not like the Power Glove.
It looks like it's fun to play, just kind of fugly to look at. Like someone at Nintendo played Soul Hackers and said, "remember how awesome ugly 90s Playstation games were? Let's go back to that."
It's amazing how Nintendo's "New" 3D conversions manage to suck the life out of the originals.
Still, we haven't had a LTTP Zelda in forever so I'd like to play this.
Not getting the hate for the art here, granted not spot on like Mario/Luigi 3DS ( that loooooooks gorgeous), but honestly was the original that great? I remember LttP as a color explosion but no particular stand out feats for SNES graphics.
It's not terrible but it's a noticeable downgrade from most of the series. I would have much preferred a further advancement of what Four Swords Adventures added onto the LTTP graphics.
They took mediocre art design and made it uglier. What's not to get?
I want to murder all of you when you post videos that are as big as the screen.
Double so when the video is low quality
As big as whose screen? Each of those takes up precisely 1/9th of mine.
Get on my level.
Oooooooh shit!
Compass is right though. Ironplant is all about that 640x480 life.
I live my life a quarter billion pixels at a time.
Get it.
60 fps and no gyroscopic bullshit... if this weren't a Zelda game, it would sound awesome.
I still hate the artwork but man, I'm getting this day one.
Is there anything to recommend this over just replaying LttP yet?
Yeah, it has Hilda and Hanondilf. Nintendo what Nintendon't
*shudder* @ Drag Queen Gannon
Christ, so every ad now will end with "for 3DS and 2DS"?
I'm surprised they don't say 2DS first.
Hey, guys. Guess who I was two rows away from today.

The game looks awesome, by the way. Dungeons in any order, fast and fluid gameplay, all items available from the start (for a price)... This went from interested to preorder over the course of a panel for me.
By the by, best moment was the Aonuma cosplay photo op afterwards. A Charles Barkley cosplayer totally photo-dunked the party.
I'm already fucking sold day one. I suggest playing some other handheld Zelda to get into the mood for this one coming out.
Iwata Asks: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Zelda II music in Streetpass Shadow Link battles is an excellent touch.
This game is getting superb reviews from every venue. I think this here is a winner.
Skyward Sword, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks had superb reviews, too. They sure as hell weren't 90/100 games to me.
I dunno, how can I answer that? I'm sure the name alone inspires some reviewer bias but maybe you'd be better served by watching a few of them and seeing if it's your bag.
I'm in no rush to play the game but the lack of handholding and freedom to do dungeons in a not so strict order makes it sound more appealing than other modern Zelda games.
I'm just more interested in reading opinions from message boarders after the initial hype dies down. I expected day one excellent reviews because that has always been the trend with Zelda games.
Maybe because they are usually pretty good games?
I didn't like Twilight Princess but that doesn't mean the reviews were necessarily wrong. It's a well-designed, good-looking game with lots of content.
Amazon is getting too comfortable. No release date shipping and you need $35 for free shipping. Fry's or Target it is!
Amazon prime student account holllaaa.
Seriously, you buy so much more shit off Amazon if you get that free 2 day shipping. Evil geniuses.
Skyward, PH, and Spirit Tracks weren't that great. Skyward is a 90 with some terrible elements that drag it down to like a 75, PH and Spirit Tracks are 70s with some really cool elements that bring them up to 75.
SCORES
but those three games in particular shouldn't have been scored as highly as they were
Phantom Hourglass is a spectacular game. The only thing that drags it down a bit is having to redo that one dungeon over and over. It still sits comfortably above a 90 for me. Inventive dungeons and bosses mixed with the best supporting character the series ever had makes it one of the best in the series.
i had actually typed out a super long post with Cap'n K'nuckles LINEBECK and really great bosses as the best things about it. Spirit Tracks had great bosses too. Whoever was responsible for those should be in charge of Zelda bosses

Ha. Never knew there was visual trickery with the graphics. Makes sense.
Aonuma said not to show that screenshot to my friends when he spoke at NYCC. I listened.

still bummed we didn't get the treasure chest LE thing state-side, i read that best buy canada did online preorders for them for like 13 minutes while i was sleeping last week though
Yeah, a friend of mine got one, and I think snagged one for Darmonde as well. NOA is so stupid about that stuff.
The line for this at Nintendo World tonight began forming mere hours after Nintendo announced the event yesterday. Fucking incredible.
When does this go on sale on eShop?
Probably 12:01? I think that's when Mario 3D World and Horrible Bullshit that only Geo is buying comes out.
I like Nintendo games because I can say "I'll buy this when it hits 20 dollars" and never buy it ever.
That has loosened just a tiiiiny bit lately, but yeah, don't hold your breath on this one.
With the release coming tomorrow I finally watched some of the videos and trailers for this game. Visually, I'm not sold on the style, it looks more like an inexpensive indie title than a major Nintendo production, but the gameplay looks like the best Zelda game in ages to me. Hopefully the visuals look better in person, but even if it doesn't I'm excited.
Gohan, I've been reading the game looks much better in action (60fps nonstop, even in 3D) than the blown up stills we've seen. I'm excited.
Watch the trailers on eShop from the 3DS.
It's an ugly game.
I love zelda games, and I love LTTP. This game's style looks so bad to me.
I'm glad that the reviews seem positive, because when I saw it I was sure that it was going to bomb. I hope it does look fine in play.
Read on Killscreen this was not developed by EAD or anything like that but by Monolith Soft, who did Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenosaga, etc.
So that sucks.
I hate them.Quote:

Wouldn't it be in absentia from? not in absentia in?
Someone tried to outclever themselves
Nintendo probably had Ganbarion develop Wii Fit U to attract all the One Piece and Jump Super Star fans
Monolith worked on Animal Crossing too. I don't think it means Nintendo EAD didn't have anything to do with it, just that Nintendo's bringing in co-developers and 2nd parties like they've done since Yamauchi screwed over Ikegami Tsushinki.
