It deserves a high score
This always looked like it was going to be a good game. And it is. Not astounding, but very solid, and a good length for a single player FPS.
If you're planning on finding the collectibles, you're going to have to play pretty slowly - - some of them take serious searching to uncover. Guns blazing is fun - - and Id definitely put enough pickups out there to do it - - but I tended to get slaughtered eventually. A little too spastic.
I finished the game in one time line, now to do the other. Took about 16 hours. I found out what the Enigma code rewards are and I'm not all that interested in playing any of those modes.
Definitely a hefty game with a lot of content. I don't feel like Multi needed to be shoehorned in at all.
Am I the only one who laughed at the premise of a shadowy group of super jews with crazy godlike technology? Isn't that like, exactly what crazy white supremacist zionist neo-nazis think the jews are already?
Return was great. Flamethrower all day.
Enemy Territory was greater.
Bloody indeed. However, there's something quite satisfying about blowing a hole through a Nazi's chest with a shotgun.
This game, I think, rewards stealthiness with easier game play (i.e., finding the commanders and taking them out before reinforcements arrive). I'm close to reaching the Assassin perk myself, so I think we have completely opposite playing styles. Also, dual-wielding is a huge waste of ammo. It looks cool, but it's not exactly practical.
The 8/10 ratings for this game are definitely justified. Solid game.
Both the gunplay and the stealth are much better done than most other similar sandbox games. I agree this game is a solid B+, but it bears the burden of being massively overhyped as well as delayed, and that it perhaps falls short of some of its grandiose ambitions.
It's better than the first Assassin's Creed, and I'm sure Ubi will make a good franchise of it.
