I didn't love this but it's a solid B, maybe even a B+. Fact is I don't know shit about the character so I am judging the movie as it is, instead of after a nerdgasm.
Still, there is much to love. The marvel intro was amazing and deserved the applause it got in my theater.Addressing the smile controversy directly was amusing, and I liked it.Seeing all of the tech that would later become a part of Avengers stuff, like the transport jet etc.
On the other hand:
The cat reveal was hilarious but felt too much like Groot when he was attacking the enemies.This is the first movie I've watched in a long time that really takes advantage of 3D in anyway, but the movie was just too fucking dark at some moments.
That said while I enjoyed the movie I think they are leaving the introduction of this character a little late in the game for me to care about her enough in End Game. Maybe if there had been a sequel before the final showdown. I guess I'll have to see in a few months.
