Religion and Science in the Classroom

Regurgitating someone else's beliefs is not much of an accomplishment; right. Atheism doesn't take much intellectual rigor and it no longer even demands courage in most places. We've already started on the path towards an atheist mainstream, and it's counterproductive to lash out at fundamentalist Christians.

It is a belief system, and almost definitely the belief system of the future in the Western countries. That means we should be extra vigilant about repeating the mistakes of other dominant ideologies.

My observations lead me to believe both sides are just a few steps away from jumping ship to the other side, so what does it matter?

They're equal. The better scientist is the one who goes out to try and test it regardless of his belief.

So why do you feel the need to label yourself in the first place?

So then we shouldn't be teaching about religion in science classes. Glad that's cleared up.

WTF is this.

Nobody is saying RIchard Dawkins should be taught in school either.

Yoshi: Your comment has nothing to do with that. One civilization studying the stars to find that they move in a certain rotation to appear in the same way depending on the seasons is no reason to teach an astronomy class that a different culture's god being born is why the stars line up.
