I don't care what they are arguing. I think the five minutes (maybe a little longer than that) is what is warranted. This is why I was so confused by sleeve's ramblings. But I don't know why you would remove it entirely when it's part of arguably the most important lesson in science, which is we know very little in the grand scheme of things.Quote:

Yeah but I fail to see how not even giving those five minutes is going to leave the door open for the bad guys to corrupt the kids. So equating Sex Ed to the teaching of biology doesn't make sense. Kids don't seek out biology answers. It's not natural.
Is there a more important lesson in any science class than we know very little and ideas drastically change over time as empirical evidence is discovered? It would be like having a statistics class where you teach arithmetic, ignoring the fact that real life has variability in essentially everything.Quote:

If you want something more concrete, go read up about the Saturn V rocket. We no longer know how to build them. We didn't keep cohesive records on how they were built and they haven't taught the theory that the components were built with in years. We could probably build something that did the same thing as the Saturn V with modern methods, but we have no idea how to reproduce a 1 to 1 copy.
That's a fair point. But ultimately not why people want to push creationism. The only reason why you would mention it is to show how much of a sham it is, making them look even worse.

No. Everyone knows what we are really talking about. People who push heavy for creationism in school are the same people who fight to get their personal version of Christianity back in schools. These are the same people that want us to go back to having a 20 minute assembly at the start of each school day where a teacher leads the school in prayer.
The only organized daily recitation in school should be the Pledge of Allegiance, and it should be mandatory in public and private schools nationally.
