Rumors posted at Lik Sang, Buy Wrong, and Planet GameCube say that Mario Sunshine will be available to importers 3-4 days before originally planned, meaning that we may be playing it as early as 7/16.
Who here at TNL can't wait the extra 5 weeks and is importing it besides me?

Even though I've waited over 5 years already, waiting an extra 5 weeks just doesn't seem possible.
I will wait, I already have so many games that I need to finish :rolleyes:

I plan on importing it, but I'm not sure when as I don't have much cash. I just ordered a Japanese Ps2 and as such I am rather broke. I'm not importing it because I can't wait the 5 weeks, I'm importing it because I have no way to play Us games.
It's not the waiting that would kill me. It would be the rest of this thread's inhabitants talking about the game.Quote:

I'm undecided. Maybe I'll import and then sell it and pick up the US version.
Since I don't want to open up my Gamecube, is there an easier way to play imports like with a Gameshark or something?
I'm pretty sure modding is the only solution at this point. I could be wrong, though.
my local import store gets all big imports atleast 4-7 days before they come out in japan, so there's a good chance i'll have Sunshine by wednesday.
I need impressions before I buy this one. Especially impressions from people who didn't like Mario 64 so much (like me). I mean, there's no question that I'll get it, I just need to know what to expect going in so I can be in the right frame of mind. By the way, even though I'm waiting for the US release, if the US version changes "shine get!" into something more closely resembling English, I'm buying the import version. I love charming mis-guided Japanese stabs at English. :)

the level design is reeeeeeally fuckin different from Mario 64.
and aside from like 3 moves, anything that used the Z and B buttons in Mario 64 have been replaced with new moves.
i think that's really all you should know, enjoy the rest on your own. well, that is if you get your soul back.

I only get imports if the US version was censored, there is no US version, or it's free (ie: warez). I don't think SMS meets any of these criteria...
I have preordered my copy from japanvideogames. So yes.

I definitely would import MS if my GC was modded. But I've been so busy playing non-GC games this year (mostly shooters or games like Zelda: MM which I still haven't finished) I procrastinated {mainly because I didn't think I'd feel like modding my GC until a good non-liscence based 2D or Treasure game came out anyways). The time I spent with MS at E3 will hold me over for now. :) I just gotta avoid MS threads in the next few weeks. I hope you MS importers won't make any thread titles that spoil cool stuff. :(

I'm in. Preordered mine about a month ago from VGD. Hopefully the releasing earlier rumors are true, though there's still the two or three day shipping wait.

On another note, does anyone know if Yoshi can be taken in the actual action stages or can he only be used in the village/hub? That's one piece of info I'm dying to know.
I don't have a modded GC so I'll have to wait for this one. That's ok though, as I've more than enough to play until it's released.
Mine's already preordered from VGD. I really hope it ships early, that would be a really pleasant surprise.

Oh yeah, I don't have my cube modded, so I'm waiting. Wish it came out sooner though for the US. Too damn close to school.
