Steven Universe- Rebecca Sugar's show (rama is storyboarding!)
This video will probably get taken down. Even the official was taken down. I'll try to find it again if it is, but GO WATCH IT RIGHT NOW SO YOU DON'T MISS IT.
This will be really good. Rebecca Sugar was one of the best writers behind Adventure Time, IF NOT THE BEST, but that might be me being biased because her last name is "Sugar". This is her own show. Her own comics are pretty amazing too.
There's at least one animated short floating around. Anyway, Rebecca Sugar is pretty dang amazing. Also rama is working on this. And it'll be so good.
Much better than anything else. Ever.

I watched it.
I smiled throughout.
I will have to dig out my fart girl collections.

He didn't actually work on that episode, but he's working on the actual show.
He did the character designs on a Cartoon Network show called "Lakewood Plaza Turbo" that isn't on Youtube, but i'll put that up too if it goes back up. Both are fantastic.

Steven's expression when he goes back to deliver the "jokes" line is amazing.
I like this a lot.

i don't know why Cartoon Network keeps taking this down.
cartoons should be free. let them fly, especially if it's good advertisement for your new show that i'll buy on iTunes because fuck cable.

Definitely a different look for a few of the characters.
Seeing as the original got pulled, here's a few minutes of it I found for comparison.

Yeah, i did kind of like the old look better, but i keep reading that they're all redesigned by Rebecca Sugar and it's not a compromise or anything. they're still really dang cool
and the opening is beautiful and i cannot wait

"Rose's Scabbard", holy crap. I'm so glad I stuck with this show through the meh first few episodes.

Yeah. Poor Pearl. It's like she hopes/expects Steven to revert to Rose outta nowhere.

I'm astounded how much they worked into 15 minutes with Jailbreak. An amazing payoff for all the things that had been building up.
edit: so I guess embedding facebook videos doesn't work even though it says it does? :\

This show justifies a digital season purchase. Just do it.
I also plan on buying BluRays whenever CN decides to release.

Just watched some eps on Hulu, but only up to cat fingers.
It's great so far. People are like, crying over the latest episodes. I walked in to find Geen and our friend Dez in tears. I need to catch up.

Best part about hulu is that "Kid's Shows" don't have commercials.
Which is blanketed on to all Cartoon Network and Adult Swim shows.

It takes a lot of lessons from videogames and old anime and kinda synthesizes what made those so great. It doesn't try to be those though, which is important.
Rama's episodes have a little bit of Remake tone to 'em, I'm so happy to see that.
Did you know Rama's voice on the show? He plays the mayor's son.

This show is an instant mood-lifter. I genuinely lol at least twice an episode: once at a joke, once at a face Steven makes.

The rezo that used to post here? Finding out former TNL people are making awesome things is the best.

Shit, RAMA! Rama's the one. Not Rezo, my typing mistake --though Rezo is also amazing! :chick: (multitasking will be the death of me, SSJN even caught it and I kept keepin' on.)

But Rama's name is Lamar, not Joe...

Steven Universe- Rebecca Sugar's show (rama is storyboarding!)
This show took 25 episodes to get RAD.
Also I didn't realize Beach City is an amalgam of Dewey, Bethany and Rehoboth Beach. I hit them all up this summer.

Please note, I didn't say it was bad, but the Lapis Lazuli episode put it over the edge for me.
I met some eastern europeans working at the fry place.
So, maybe?

Lapis episode was around the time the jokes kind of stopped and the season took a turn for the sentimental. Really hoping Season 2 is more Cat Fingers and Dave Guy and funny faces and less other stuff.
Really, I just want Remake: The Animated Series.

Some Stupid Japanese Name
There's a slightly more scatological thing Rama did that I wouldn't mind seeing animated...
Started watching Steven Universe recently and have caught up on all of the episodes so far. Absolutely love it.

I mean, in hindsight yeah it's obvious it should be possible for Steven to fuse with other gems in addition to humans, but they've gone so long without doing it I'd long since figured they just knew he couldn't, like maybe they'd tried off-camera at some point and it didn't work.
EDIT: Also, if fusion is a metaphor for sex and relationships... did Jasper just get AIDS?
Rama is killing it. I just watched season 2 and saw him in the writing credits every other episode.
There do seem to be fewer jokes as the series progresses, though. I miss the funny Steven faces.

Uh oh, Pearl stole the Best Song crown from Garnet.
Garnet makes a valiant effort to take it back (with assist from Stevonnie and guest animator Takafumi Hori of Studio Trigger), but comes up just a bit short imo.
