I can't verify this personally as the site hosting the archive appears to be down, but this text file makes it sound like somebody has acquired the emails, gamertags, and passwords of everyone on Xbox Live. That possibility is scary enough that you should probably change your password this very instant.

Change your state to Illinois and a removal option will appear. Because that state has a law requiring it.

So for shits and giggles, I tried logging in to at least 10 accounts, none of them existed.
It's like someone traveled through time from the year 2000 to write that introduction. That shit was painful to read.
There's a reason I said "might." The text file says the ones present in it are just a small sample, while the rest are in that inaccessible 6.something gb archive. This news story makes it sound like this supposed hacker makes shit up and claims credit for the work of others, but that's not enough for me. After all, maybe he just claimed the work of somebody else who really has compromised Xbox Live.

This is why these guys will never get a credit card number or anything useful from me. Just changing my passwords for my two xbox email addresses resulted in an hilarious email code verification loop.

I pick strong passwords and don't change them for several years.
that actually doesn't matter depending on how they're encrypted, you know... if ms does some dumbass shit like store md5 or sha1 hashes, all they need to get your password is rainbow tables, processing power and time
That's why I panicked and changed it. Otherwise it would have stayed the same indefinitely.
I really wish MS allowed passwords longer than 16 characters. I tend to use full sentences when given the opportunity.
