Grabbed a working Xbox 360 HD DVD player boxed (minus the king kong hd dvd) that somebody tossed on top of the community recycling bin... no HD DVD to test on it, but tried a DVD and it works...feels good to find free shit
they probably thought it would play blu-rays or something and figured it was broken

We still use them as well. I went on a buying spree when people were clearing the movies out for ~$3 new.
Yeah, I didn't buy mine until the drives were on clearance for $50 with some free movies and all the movies were dirt cheap. There are still sellers on Amazon who have stuff for like $1 or something like that.
I have a shitload of HDDVDs. You can borrow some. And as far as Amazon goes, you can usually get them to combine shipping if you email direct and buy at least 5.
Somebody should start the July thread.
I think the point is that you have to buy something.
