Haha.
Her secret Indian lover.
So, seriously, is there any way someone could send me a save file with rosalina? It would be appreciated.
Yeah, that's precisely the problem. The screen isn't big enough to account for the aperture between your eyes, so it can't create natural depth, only the illusion that the screen is about and inch and a half deep, like a diorama. Some games (especially top-down games) can use that shallow depth to nice effect, but most just look unnatural and I just turn it off.
bravo
sometimes I swear I must have a busted 3DS because people tell me I am missing something WTF awesome
and then posts like this remind me, nope
Bah. The 3D was compelling enough in a shitty game like Pilotwings to sell me a system on launch day. It's the best feature a Nintendo system has had since actual horsepower in the GameCube, though that's admittedly a pretty low bar.
Yeah, the 3D is nice, switching it on and off shows that games that use it properly look much better with than without.
Pilotwings was pretty horrible use of the 3D. Mario 3D Land, Zelda, and Kokuga were pretty good. Even in the good games, I keep it off most of the time though.
I just downloaded Galaxy Force II 3D today too and that looks surprisingly dope in 3D. Really good port actually.
Yeah, GFII looks really good in 3D.
Hey, so I am seriously considering picking this up and borrowing a friends Wii U. Do I have to collect a bunch of stars and shit to beat the game, or can I just play through the levels (and maybe there are warp pipes). I know, broken record on the rosalina thing. Apparently there is no way to transfer saves on the Wii U though.
There are a few levels that need a certain amount of green stars to unlock, but not to the point of you having to find all three green stars in every level leading up to those locked levels.
As for Rosalina, you unlock her very early into the first bonus world, so if you beat the game you're on the brink of adding her. She's a fun playable character and quite useful thanks to her spin move.
Most of the green stars aren't that difficult to get. Just enjoy it and don't worry about it. You'll be playing as Rosalina before you even know it
Not specifically to unlock her, but to progress enough that you reach that level where you unlock her, yes.
I think if you just pick up whichever green stars you come across, there's a good chance that will probably be enough or at least be close to.
The bite sized levels in this, which I am convinced are a remnant of its portable origins, really help my collectible OCD. Some of the previous games have been irritating, because missing something meant replaying a too long level. In this one, replaying a level a time or two to get everything is quick and still enjoyable. Granted, I'm only up to 2-2 as I types this, but I have all the green stars, stamps, and gold flags so far. Hopefully the length stays consistent while the difficulty ramps up.
This is addictive as hell. I'm up to 48 stars and 13 stamps. As long as I can get everything in ~3 tries, I don't even get too irritated.
How do you feel about your appearance in the game? Was that a genuine return to form for you, or another project you had to take on for funding leading up to the release of your Island reboot? You look handsome in HD
This game is nearly perfect.
It really is the best 3D Mario game.
Except that bogus ass Gamepad stuff
It's very, very good.
It's not Mario Galaxy 2 though, which is the pinnacle of all 3D platforming games.
Damn it. The gamepad died on me just before the World 4 boss level. I still have all the green stars, stamps, and gold flags to that point. I wish they wouldn't put collectibles that require a certain power up in levels where you can't get that power up. That's irritating as hell.
Holy crap is this game longer than I thought. I am at 202 stars and 56 stamps (need two more stars from Castle dash Castle) but now realize that's not the end.
edit: It's also destroyed my completion rate in 2014. I don't think I've played anything else since I got it.
Rosalina is such a slow, fat turd.
Yeah, Yoshi, the game just keeps on going. Haven't finished it yet, but that's because I've been waiting for a friend to come over and continue our co-op.
The baseball idiots in the beach stage with all the green koopas are so amazing graphically, it's a mindfuck
I need all the green stars and stuff, but I don't think I'm going to get it before I give the system back. Such a fucking great game, one of the few games I didn't feel like I was wasting my time on.
Rosalina is slow, and I don't like her new voice as much as the monotone one, but still by far the coolest.
She has an attack double jump, best character in the game.
i love rosalina
she says "BOING" when she gets giant which is exactly what i'm thinking
I got 200 stars by the time I reached world BowsersDumbFace-1 and then found out Rosalina only happens in post-game. I am sad.
I love Bowser's douchebag pose when he shows up in his lowrider. It's like I never fully understood his intentions in any game before that.
Did anyone finish this game? The last last level is... Hard. And an asshole.
It took me forever but it was so awesome
Did it with rosalina but I'm not really looking forward to trying with everyone else. Many lives were lost.
Oh, so did you figure out a good way of getting through that spotlight part I asked you about?
You just go. There are a few blocks you stand under to reset it, and you have a sec before the spikes come up. Maybe you broke the blocks?
So I'm guessing this is the next Wii U game I should buy?
Does it have annoying motion controls like the New Super Mario games?
Motion Controls are more or less dead on the Wii U.
The other being flappy bird.
Wasn't that 2014? At the rate shit is being moved back, it might be a contender this year.
I'm up to world 3-5 and so far the camera system is my biggest complaint with this game.
It sucks that it's not free roaming, and that it's also completely locked for some levels.
I can see why they put in a suit with a ground attack, because lining up stomp attacks with these preset camera angles is a pain.
I've actually enjoyed the Captain Toad levels more than the real Mario levels, since the camera is free roam in Captain Toad land.
Its much more fun with friends.
