In case anyone was wondering why SSB wasn't using the Circle Pad Pro.
Quote:
(What is the reason that the game supports the New 3DS' C-Stick, but not the Circle Pad Pro?)
"Supporting the CCP requires the use of some of the CPU's processing load. From the information received during the development of Kid Icarus: Uprising, this is a quite large load at around 5%. Kid Icarus: Uprising and Smash both use the maximum capability of the device, so we had to abandon the idea of CCP support.
With the New 3DS, we were able to support the C-Stick as the processing power is increased and it is not a peripheral device.
That sounds like a typical Nintendo PR load of bullshit.
Have you played the demo? It makes the whole fucking system sluggish. I really don't think it should have been attempted so that the Wii U one could be better, but whatever.
It sounds reasonable to me, doesn't the CPP work through that infrared sensor on the system? That could be quite inefficient in a way the c-stick isn't. And doesn't this game disable some of the OS functions?
Monster Hunter 3U works fine with it, but the demo does seem pretty heavy on the system.
Actually the quote makes perfect sense because he said he discovered the CPP overhead while working on Kid Icarus.
If the trade-off for having the game be portable was getting rid of the Ice Climbers, I have zero objections.
