Just got done playing for a hour. Haven't touched this series since N64 (party machine IMO) and am definitely pumped for the full retail version.

Tried it. The game looks great, but eh, it's Smash Brothers... online play needs to be on point for this to be worth a damn.

Yep it disables the OS during play. On a traditional 3DS certain functions will be unable that will be on New 3DS ( Miiverse pics for instance).
Megamegamegamega Man is REALLY FUN, and the final smash attack (which I have learned is activated by simply pressing B /noob) will give you crazy grins.

It sounds reasonable to me, doesn't the CPP work through that infrared sensor on the system? That could be quite inefficient in a way the c-stick isn't. And doesn't this game disable some of the OS functions?
Monster Hunter 3U works fine with it, but the demo does seem pretty heavy on the system.

You've got it backwards. When the decision to make a 3DS version (and pull out all the stops for it, and hamstring the Wii U version so as not to outshine it) was made, the Wii U wasn't even out yet, they probably assumed it would do great, and it was the 3DS that appeared to be in danger of failing. Remember, the dark days before the price cut? THAT'S what motivated this. But now jump ahead a few years, the 3DS is doing fine, it's the Wii U that needs saving, and Smash Bros. is just the game to do it... but people can just get it on their 3DS instead.Quote:
