To me hip hop has always been about the words, and what you could do with them. Why is this repeated line shit a thing now?

For me, hip-hop (and music in general) was about the beats and the way the words sound. For better or worse*, that's the direction things are going.










*WORST. IT FOR THE WORST.

The beat is, obviously, important. But the cadence, and the rhyming is what has always jumped out. Some mother fucker only rhyming the last syllable of every line is just so boring. Even I do more than that, and I write punk rock.
