Steel Empire Remake Coming to 3DS

Did this game invent steampunk? This is the first steampunk piece of culture I ever witnessed.

I guess maybe one could consider Return to Oz (the movie) steampunk, also?

Wouldn't sci-fi from the 1800s (like from Jules Verne) count as steampunk?

For gaming pre-Steel Empire, there's Ultima: Martian Dreams and probably other stuff.

Oh yeah, Jules Verne. Forgot about him. Martian Dreams is pretty solid, too.

That reminds me of The Eidolon, that great old Lucasfilm game made with the Rescue on Fractalus engine. That was definitely steampunk.
