edit: I wonder if the "journey begins" refers to some Ground Zeroes type stuff. It'll be hard to match Kojima's pretentiousness.

I always thought Kojima's pretentiousness was tongue-in-cheek. Then earnest-ass, straight-ass-faced-ass MGS4 happened. Now I'm not so sure.

It's no different than any other press release really. Not sure why this one of all PR's sticks in your craw.

Most PR releases don't claim importance to non-players. Most don't claim their subject's place among gamers' "essential experiences" whatever that means.

It is, though, very much like all PR releases and all writing about videogames in that it contains the word "core."

All this Halo talk makes me want 3, Reach, and 4 on PC and in 60fps. They actually just released a new official update to the PC port of Halo 1, believe it or not, moving it off GameSpy and fixing/adding a bunch of stuff.
