I got some retarded 27" 1080p monitor. Cyber Monday + reward points + mail in rebate = $78.
Now I'm using 25" and 27" monitors. Video editing will never be the same.
Now that's the thing that's throwing me off tho.. when you said..
Saying that they were only interested in the '90s made me feel like they'd forgotten about SegaScope 3-D so I presume you're deliberately separating the two for some reason.Quote:
Some interesting backstory is that Sega was looking into VR development way back in the 90's.
I can't really comment on what they were thinking in the 80's with the glasses but it's clear that Yu Suzuki always had a vision of simulating fast speed movement in gaming.
Once I met the SOJ retro expert, I will have a go at all of these topics.
To add to my adventure, I met Yuji Hori, known better as the creator of Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger, last week.

amazon has a ton of disney dvds for about 40-50% off. Sale ends tonight. I'll probably finish out my scrooge stuff.
I really hate the pricing spike on Japanese toys the past few years, but I finally pulled the trigger on the Samus Figma. It was going for $150+ earlier this year when it looked like production was done and an American distributorship was off the table, which helped assuage the pricey-but-at-least-not-insane $50 current going rate.
Totally worth it. It's amazing.Quote:
I'm pretty well in love with Figmas' presentation from this, altogether. I always assumed they were around the scale of a Revoltech, but it's a nice NECA-sized figure. Neat complement of accessories (Morphball mode, interchangable "missle mode" tip for the gun, little 'laser blast' props to attach to the gun), and presented so practically; It comes with the often-seen complement of interchangable hands, but rather than all being loose there's a little clear plastic pegboard they all slot onto to keep them together! And inside the package is a little Figma-branded plastic ziplock bag to throw everything into for easy storage.
I'll probably grab the Aigis Figma next, based on how impressed I was by this one. The FE: Awakening Marth coming sometime next year will be a must, too.
got that $15 Fire Emblem 3DS game @ Best Buy
- Red Dead Redemption GOTY Edition, 360. Yee-Haw!
just ordered
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors Volume 1 (first 33 Episodes) and Volume 2 (last 32, and yes, they finally put it out) - for about 5 or 6 each on Amazon
Ducktales Seasons 2 and 3 for 8 something on the amazon sale
And the Jane's Car manual for the Tiger tank to round out the free shipping.
Last month I picked up Galaxy High Volume 1 and 2 for like 6-8 from that rightstuf sale. There's a lot of 80s stuff slipping in under the radar.
Thanks for the heads up, got Jace vol 2 for the wife. I didn't think that was ever coming out.
there's been a lot of B list stuff slipping out.
Galaxy High
Silver Hawks
Brave Star
COPS
Not so cool stuff like Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad, Street Sharks, Skeleton Warriors, etc
Project X Zone 3ds from Newegg for $20.
That game is the most fun you'll have being a games nerd ever.
Needs more Hello Kitty imo
Right? There is just the one tiny one.
edit: and the tape
Nice scale. I was thinking the Neo Geo X was a shrinkwrapper for a second there.
How are the tiny speakers?

I even picture this guy when I have the misfortune of talking to my own HR guy.
Most important haul: Quarantines records! This is the nicest looking record I've ever seen.
Sonic and Altered Beast 3D for 3DS. Sonic is perfect and with all the new options added inculding the Spin Dash option for the game, I really, really, hope they say fuck it and do all the Sonic Games from the Genesis era like this on the 3DS.
Outrun pls.
Outrun is confirmed, as is Sonic 2.
why not do sonic 2 first? It had the most mass appeal
Because Tails needs to be stopped, and 1 has better music.
pffft
I look forward to going blind playing the Sonic 1 bonus stage! (i am pretty sure that's what will happen ten seconds in to it)
Better!
oh my god I'm going to jerk off all over Outrun
Hopefully out doesn't have the bootleg car from Shenmue.
I got my nVidia Shield today. Best emulation device of all time.
Got Perfect Dark on the 360 for $2 thanks to the lightning sale on XBL.
Pretty much.
Which Perfect Dark, the remake? The frame rate and controls are much better than the N64 game. It's more playable this time around.
Good point, I forgot about that one
Ordered a breadmaker for the missus!

Zojirushi's Neuro Fuzzy rice cooker was one of my favorite kitchen appliances ever, I expect their 'home bakery' is going to be rad.
Picked up the NSMB/LuigiU bundle on the way home from work. Already a system update out of the box! Way to go Nintendo!
YOU SHOULD'A SEEN THE DAY 1 UPDATE. MAN I TELL YA.
but all of the systems require updates out of the box now...
Got a new bicycle for a late birthday. It's nice too - Cannondale. RIDE OR DIE.
Got Ys Seven off psn for $7.49. All of the psp Ys games are on sale dirt cheap right now.
This sale has been making me want to rebuy Ys Seven just to finish it on the Vita. You can transfer saves from PSP to PS3 to Vita, right?
I took my P3P save from PSP to Vita just fine, I think it was a semi-unofficial thing where I had to start a game on the vita and swap in my old save to the folder it created, so it's not just a drag & drop thing.
I actually prefer playing psp rpgs on an actual psp. The filtering on the text bugs me.
I picked up a whole bunch of old software and books from the World of Commodore show over the weekend.
Most of it is filler because the organizers had a 20 for $5 thing going on, but some of it is genuinely useful to me.
A few things were actually in the $5-$10 dollar range since they were from a vendor, like the 4 NIB Epyx 500XJ joysticks and Dpaint III, and a few things were from a raffle.
All together I spent about $80 including admission, which is fine since I'm glad to support these kinds of things.
Today, I picked up Super Mario Galaxy and a few $2 Wii games.
What Vic cartridges are those?
Yea, I wanted to go for a ride today but it's snowing like crazy here.
I got a beta key for Hearthstone. I haven't really ever played a CCG but this is pretty fun.
I need to play more Hearthstone but it straight up crashes my computer. This is not acceptable in any year past 2000.
Mario and Luigi 3DS for $24.99 at Newegg, and Asura's Wrath PS3 for $9.99.
*edit*
Also Far Cry 3 for $14.99 and Crysis 3 for $11.99 at Amazon thanks to a BB price match. I love December.
Garden Wars is a weird maze shooter, and kind of shitty from what I remember. The Sky is Falling is like Kaboom! on 2600. I think it might require a paddle controller.
I got into HearthStone too! I have no idea what it's about but it's installing now.
More trades!

The Wolverine one is courtesy of Bacon. Thanks for the awesome gift!
eBay game haul:

It's a bootleg, but it was $12 shipped, and I really want to play this on my Genesis.
Attachment 72718 Attachment 72719
and a new cover for my new Galaxy 4:

Picked up New Super Mario Bros 2 thinking it was a sequel to 3DS Land. Oh well.
...how'd you do that?
Didn't clearly read the cover lol. When it came out I assumed it was a 3ds sequel but it wasn't. Guess that's what happens when you assume.

$84 total. Doing my part for further localized Sega 3D Classics. One of these is for my brother... with the caveat that he has to buy at least one Sega 3D Classic.
I made the mistake of redeeming the $50 card I picked up through the Wii U.
For some reason, I thought I had read that Nintendo finally merged the accounts...
Now I have to go buy another damn card for the 3DS :/
I should mark the calender and then see how long it takes for there to finally be something worth buying digitally for the WiiU. I have a feeling that $50 is going to sit there for a LONG time.
There are some good Virtual Console games on there... now that they've started to re-release the Konami ones.
different from the ones I already have on the Wii?
Sort of. I think it's very cheap to "upgrade" them, and then you can play them on the pad. I'm not sure if there are other benefits.
yeah...thanks but no thanks. I purchased these as a courtesy.
I won't pay the same service twice for the same, or mostly the same, thing twice.
One part yes, one part no? I will have to look into it!
Post if you figure it out, I was going to go buy a card this afternoon, or would be helpful to know if I needed one large card or two smaller ones.
You just need to link your NNID from your Wii U to your 3DS. Once you do that it'll merge what ever money you have in your Wii U and 3DS eWallets.
I've already done it as well. Once I linked my NNID to my 3DS, my 3DS eShop balance was available on the Wii U eShop.
I picked up 3D Space Harrier last week and bought a $20 eShop card from BB a few days ago.
The warrior and priest are both mean jerks.
I really want to get one of those beta invites. I've been playing SolForge daily for months now and love it but I wouldn't mind trying something else out.
You have a battle.net account? I opt in to every blizzard beta and hope I eventually get in.
Yep, just not active on it. I made sure I logged in to check once I heard beta invites were going out.
3D Galaxy Force II
It looks amazing, how is it? Specifically how are the 'under the hood' settings?
I haven't messed around with it too much, but as you say, it looks great and there are a number of options available. In terms of game settings you can tweak the initial energy level, energy timer, shield strength, and difficulty. Button configuration is customizable and there are other input settings - including Circle Pad Pro compatibility apparently. Screen settings feature four different screen options, including one that's a virtual arcade cabinet that simulates the movement of the cabinet, and there are Super DX and DX HUD options for that virtual cab - it's pretty neat. And there are some sound settings as well.
Saw on CAG that PS4s were available on Amazon.
Ordered one.
Looked at PS4 section on my store wall.
Went back and cancelled the order.
Because you have a PS4 there?
the games section... i think.
the game section. There's nothing there to warrant the system purchase. Sucks.
I know, I was kidding
Bought the revamped Sonic 2 for Android, it is awesome - and sideloads perfectly on the OUYA.
That came out already?!? Oh man I can't wait to play Hidden Palace Zone without falling through the floor after 30 seconds!
- Super Hang-On 3D Classics
- Space Harrier, 3D Classics
- Galaxy Force II, 3D Classics
GFII uses the Circle Pad Pro! I'm really loving these ports. Awesome work and the type of thing Sega needs to do more.
I just got this shirt:
http://www.the-nextlevel.com/tnl/att...1&d=1386942829
Pretty sure it's for some band (that I probably don't like) but I don't even care. It's so good.
