I've seen that before, not the shirt, but what it is supposed to be. This is going to bug the shit out of me.

It's the Black Flag logo repeated a bunch.
Crisis Averted.
After a three month stint the slow boat dropped about 60 Famicom titles at my doorstep. Eager to rip in, holidays may put that on hold though. Got one last box that should hit in January or so.
Got Zone of the Enders HD Collection for $12. I think I read somewhere that the horribleness was patched out of it, for the price I'll give it a shot.
Also, free Fallouts that I probably will never play!
Thanks to every asshole who has posted impressions of the Sega 3D Classics, I decided to return the XL goalposts to their original position of a solid white or black, as opposed to a Yoshi LE. Thus, this happened:
Attachment 72751
It's black and doesn't say "Nintendo" anywhere on the top or inside, so it must be a Sega system, right? Although it does have an awfully shitty d-pad for a Sega system. It didn't hurt that I'm going to price match Target on it on Sunday to $150. I figure I'll be able to get that back for it should a Yoshi LE materialize, which I've basically now guaranteed. And then part of those 20% off eShop cards from Best Buy magically turned into these, further confirming that it must be a Sega system with key third party support:
- 3D Space Harrier
- 3D Super Hang-On
- 3D Altered Beast
- 3D Sonic the Hedgehog
- 3D Galaxy Force II
- 3D Ecco the Dolphin
- Crimson Shroud
I also regained access to my Ambassador games and other 3D Classics, after the thoughtful but slow Pikmin moved them over. My daughter had tripped, dropped, and broken my launch day 3DS months ago. She's getting her own purple one for Christmas, so this one will be strictly off limits. It's been long enough that it's basically like getting a new platform, which should kill my new and shiny urges until something worthwhile comes out on PS4 four months from now and help me not upgrade my phone for no good reason. There, I think I've fully rationalized it.
Yoshi: If a Yoshi model XL comes out just do like I (and Low?) did and sell the old jam on Ebay for more than the $150 you paid for it.
Indeed, but the US Luigi system was very late in the year and is ugly. I figured we could use more voting dollars on the Sega 3D Classics before Nintendo decides to give Yoshi's New Island a date, much less get an LE system out for it.
edit: The other I wanted to be ready for was any kind of Club Nintendo Yoshi stuff throughout next year.
I've been saving my Club Nintendo points like mad too.
M2's Game Gear ports need support, too. It would suck if we don't get Shinobi II.
I got those free Fallout games from GOG. That will save me from looking for the discs next time I want to play them.
GG Shinobi is a must. It's non linear, but there is a definite "easist" order to go to acquire all the ninjas. I don't know if I'd have the patience nowadays to figure it out though.
Cashed in a Digital Deluxe Promo $5 and got Galaxy Force II.
I have ~$26 in credit left. $12.88 of that is Streets of Rage and Shinobi III next week. I guess that only leaves enough for two VC games. Maybe I should go back for another card.
edit: Oh, wait, the VC stuff is cheaper than I thought. I might be able to swing 3-4, depending on which ones.
I have another 5 I was going to put towards Sonic since everybody seems to be gushing over how rad it looks, but I reeeeally like Streets of Rage. Hm.
"Or" is overrated.
I get what you're saying.
Nintendo gonna Nintendo. Clicked the video for 3D Sonic and it's just a 2D video.
Shinobi III is the game to get next week, Street of Rage 2 is the worthy one...
Do or don't, I dig it.
I was given a 1200fps air rifle as a present.
It's basically a 22.
Critters.
yeah. I was disappointed with the videos only being in 2D too. What's also frustrating is how there is less 3D on the eshop than there used to be. The pictures for stuff like Virtual Console or new releases weren't in 3D like in previous visits to the store.
I definitely plan to pick up Galaxy Force and I'm excited that it uses the circle pad pro.
Obama will take it
Not necessarily.
Not all blacks eat raccoon you racist. Obama might prefer the old menu.
Just picked up a mario/luigi 3dsxl in anticipation of target's $150 sale starting tomorrow. I should have no problem getting the difference back and i should be able to sell my current xl for at least 150 even, meaning i will get club nintendo points, a special system, and the mario luigi game for less than $5.
Special edition systems for everyone!
Yes, play the game. I was lucky and sold my blue XL to a sucker/my coworker so no fees and no seedy CL parking lot handjobs required.
Broke down and picked up Galaxy Force 2, it's niiiiiice. Sonic remains also amazing.
Galaxy Force may ultimately sell me an XL, and it's the first game I've thought that about.
Two down, four (and counting) to go.
It really is like seeing scaling sprites and parallax for the first time all over again. Sega is using the 3DS correctly.
The games are pretty great, no doubt.
I'm on the cusp of buying 3D Altered Beast.
I just like to build rapport.
Went to the Nintendo World Store and got like 15 street passes... And a t shirt. That place is nostalgia overload.
So is the XL much better then the OG?
Id say its definitely -$20 better than OG, and quite possibly +$30 better too.
It has bigger screens. Everything else is a wash (resolution, controls size) or is actually worse (speakers, 3D light, stylus quality), based on my initial impression. However, with portables the screen size makes up for a lot.
Size queen.
Went there last night to get a 3DS XL case for my girlfriend. Forgot that there are exactly two that are worth a damn. Bought other things instead.
Some of you guys need to come in to New York to see it sometime. Yoshi might be particularly interested in a few things...

I got Golden Axe Beast Rider for $3 on 360 from Gamestop. It's not that bad.
Does anyone want my Super Mario Galaxy Club Nintendo PIN# and my Wii Mini serial number?
The Mother corner is like a giant middle finger from Nintendo to me.

That wasn't there today I think.
BTW: SM3DW looks amazing. Old news I know but holy shit. If my wife wasn't with me I would have bought a Wii U right there no joke
I guess i fucked myself out of the mario luigi game? Transferred my shit over, i dont see it anywhere. No biggie.
Transfer is done, nintendo id is linked, ecco is downloaded, galaxy force is downloading, and the rest of the Sega shit shall follow. Picked up a $20 card from Best Buy just in case the $50 was enough.
SEGA!
Was Mario & Luigi preinstalled or did it had a code? If it was preinstalled I could see how you might lose it, a call/email to Nintendo may be in order. The Zelda bundle used a code, I actually activated the code on my old XL before doing the transfer.
Or, you might go to the eshop and see if it will let you download it anyway without paying. It's worth a try.
Yeah, I system transferred to my ACNL3DS and then dl'd the game. I'm sure you can do it.
Yep, was able to download for frizzle. Anyone know what the update is for? Google is so hard...
So i googled it. It's weird to me to see an intendo game needing a patch.
I bought a house. Escrow is open!
Birthday present from my mom. New lens!

I also bought the Silver Mario & Luigi limited edition 3DS XL thanks to the $150 Target sale. Amazing value, especially as it looks fantastic.
Mine is comfortably nestled in its green cradle.
Thanks to registering my old 3dsxls and the many wiiu and 3ds games I picked up during the target sale/coupon extravaganza, I'm up over 1100 club nintendo coins again after just spending a bunch on the two cradles.
Now to wait until something worthwhile becomes available again...
Need a gold cradle imo

$220 shipped from Toys R Us via NewEgg. I figure that's like it being $199.99 plus tax locally, which seems like the right price finally.
And now the Steam sale is three days away.
I saw that earlier, that's a killer deal. Congrats.
Can you stick an external HD on a basic Wii U without any nonsense?
Yep, but I think a 32GB SD Card might suffice.
yes.
Then I've some fluids to sell.
Those tiny 32 gb SanDisk usb drives would probably work really well.
Yup, usb sticks work great too.
RABBIT Japan location test proto kit, complete and fully original - only one in the world; the ones seen in Korea are Asian versions which are a different build

Whaaaaaat is that?
I have no idea
2D fighter developed by a Japanese company called Aorn. It was the only game they did but EA pulled the plug on all arcade projects around the time of arcade Madden so they made a Saturn port before going under but it wasn't a great job.
I've never hear of that game and I'm STILL impressed. Who's funding your documentary/webseries/book/weblog or blog/interpretive dance biography, Shou? I want to pitch in!
I'm in this documentary and trailer:

I'm speaking at this conference in March.
Probably will go to Kickstarter for my story someday lol
Here's a vid of the Asian version of Rabbit

Bought UMvC 3 on the 360 for $5 via the GoD sale. I've already got it on PS3, but now I can have it digitally and hold on to my physical PS3 copy in case that price skyrockets.
Shou is the Wheatcroft of gaming.
I'm into bad Golden Axe games right now so I got the "Sega Classics Collection" for PS2 from Amazon for $6. Dear god that's a shitty version of Golden Axe. I heard some of the Sega 3D Ages games were good though. Is this the only collection that came stateside?
Think so? There's a bunnnnch of 'em. http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/segaages/segaages.htm
I like logging in to Steam and there's a bunch of shit from I Don't Know Where on my games list. Thanks TNL?
Some of the Sega Ages games were polygonal remakes that are barely worth mentioning, and some were collections of the old Genesis games in HD. We got a handful thrown together as both the Sega Classics Collection and Sonic's Personal Library of Genesis Titles That He Feels Are Worth Playing. Stuff like Alien Soldier and the Monster World series (which we would get some of as DD) is still missing, though, so it's not all-inclusive.
To be fair, sonic did put together a pretty good mix tape.
Finally upgraded my PS3 HDD to a 1TB, so tired of constantly cleaning out and rearranging the fridge for new PSN purchases and PS+ stuff. Those Sony 1st party downloads were just totally out of the question on the ol' 160GB one, the file sizes are already bloated enough as-is, then you need twice the space to actually install 'em. Will buy that $10 GOW Ascension they've got going now as a sort of celebration.
Grabbed Tearaway yesterday for $20, and some cheap Blu-rays this morning:
Warner Bros triple features: Matrix Trilogy, LOTR Trilogy, and Beetlejuice/Charlie and the Chocolate Factory/Corpse Bride for $6.88 each
Predator 3D(!) for $15(!!)
That Predator surprised me. I'd buy the hell out of 3D conversions of classic shit like that for reasonable prices, hope it's the start of a trend.
While looking for videos of the Sega Ages stuff it got me thinking: which YouTube gaming channels do TNL members think are worth watching/subscribing to?
We picked up an LG Washer/Dryer set for about half the price from an appliance shop on Mission Street! Working great so far, no Mexican Magical Realism yet.
Not having to go to the laundromat = A++++
They're mostly horrible so you might actually enjoy quite a few.
Game Sack could be great if Joe wasn't a stubborn, close-minded Sega fanboy and if Dave wasn't such a goon. It's actually still really good despite that, ha.
strafefox makes Splash Wave, which I highly recommend (even if it's European).
couryc does the My Life in Gaming videos that are pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of the fake VHS joke walkthroughs, though!
Happy Video Game Nerd has reviewed some pretty great games but has a stupid voice, face, and his drinking wine shit is dumb. All he does now is stream live because I assume it is incredibly less work and somehow more popular despite being shit.
Classic Game Room is cool and I love the host, even if he sucks at games. He just left Youtube over the bullshit going on and started www.classicgameroom.com
Chrontendo is cool and Chronturbo is OK, but don't listen to Dr. Sparkle talk about Sega unless you want your face to melt off from all the Nintendo fanboy bias.
Rinrygamegame is a girl who actually really plays good games, is good at them, and holds informed opinions. Too bad she can't stop having babies and putting the channel on hold.
Two Best Friends Play is one of the few "watch people play games" shows I can stomach because it's heavily edited down to just the good parts, a technique 99% of the people out there should incorporate.
Everything else is just indescribable shit. I'm sure there are some good dudes that are worth watching getting like 90 views a year that I haven't found yet.
EDIT: Maybe this should be a separate thread
Tekken tag tournament 2, Ducktales Remastered and Nintendoland.
