This Month's Haul - December 2013

I got jealous of all the attentions that Gohan is receiving, so I went and bought one too.
Not really. But I think I'd like to have one. But I have no cabinet to hook it up to.

Neither do I, but hopefully I will have a box of random Jameco parts waiting for me when I get home.

Btw, before anyone gets too excited, the FotNS is a bootleg and Atomiswave boards are relatively cheap, so it's not like this was super expensive.

Are they easily consolized?

As far as consolizations, it's pretty easy. It's already in a nice shell, and that's the hard part of consolization, making it look pretty. All I have to do is add a power jack, RGB out, and some controller ports to it. Since my XRGB can take the straight RGB signal I don't have to fool with a video encoder. The only thing that's going to be difficult is adding Neo-style controller ports to it and not be messy since it's not a nice round or rectangular cutout. I'm not that great with a Dremel.

I received a $100 Gamestop gift card from my wife and a $50 Best Buy gift card from my mother-in-law for Christmas. I honestly don't know what I'll buy with those cards, but I may get premium BF4 for my PC with the Best Buy card.

My primary reasons for wanting the thing is that I wanted to pay Fist of the North Star and Dolphin Blue. I played those At a place near here and they are awesome.

I've only played Dolphin Blue once, and thought it was a damn shame it never got a DC port. Fist is neat!

Assassin's Creed III: Deluxe Edition (w/ all DLC) - $14.99 - This was some weird unpublicized Steam sale, since it went from 50 to 75% off without being a daily or flash sale.

Got a $20 3DS card for x-mas. Finally got into the eShop and just bought Sonic, Galaxy Force II, & Shinobi III.

I also got a couple GameStop gift cards, which I used to get Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing Wii U and a 35 dollar eShop card. I used the card to get NES Remix Wii U, Nano Assault Neo Wii U, 3D Shinobi III 3DS, and 3D Streets of Rage 3DS.

Today I used Christmas money to pick up another card (on sale at Best Buy), which I used to get the Zen Pinball 2 Classic Pack and Star Wars Pinball (since they are on sale and I don't yet have them for 360 or PC). I also used it for Earthbound and Wii Sports Club Golf.

I think the only people buying Wii U are TNL and NeoGAF posters.

I somehow made it to the end of 2013 with a 500w PSU from 7 years ago. Tried playing SRIV last night and it kept full on rebooting my computer, did a little research and saw that it might be my PSU. So now I have a 750w PSU and it was the most boring use of a christmas gift card EVER.

- Heavenly Sword, PS3 ($6 used. I've never played it, so I was curious to see what it was like. Can't go wrong for the price)
- Pac-Attack, Genesis ($10 complete)

I also got Zany Golf for the Genesis, complete and in great condition, for $11 shipped because the seller thought it was broken. The game only works on pre-TMSS Genesis consoles, or with a Game Genie on other models, because it was released before EA got a license from Sega to be a 3rd party. ZG usually goes for a bit more in that condition, so I'm happy to find one so cheap.

I splurged on a 700w like eight years ago where half the connectors didn't even apply to anything I own. It's gone through three generations of video cards and always supported everything despite me having swapped out every single original connection type I was using. I have a feeling it might be on its slow way out due to some very occasional errors I've gotten in the past year that don't seem to be stemming from anywhere in particular, but good PSUs are pretty fucking awesome. And yeah, also boring.

Just grabbed XCOM Enemy Within for $15. Almost jumped at it for the $21 it's been all sale, glad I waited a bit longer.

I was really pissed that the Vision & the Scarlet Witch trade isn't the whole limited series. Whoever the asshole at Marvel it was that decided that "Vision & the Scarlet Witch" (the name of the ACTUAL mini-series itself) should be the name of the trade that only has 1/3 of the mini series should be beaten to death with it. The one with the whole series is called "Vision & the Scarlet Witch: A Year in the Life." WTF Marvel.

It's my fault, I guess. I should have read the description better before buying.

the Year of the Saturn is off to a good start, other deals so far have been forum purchases & a few on ebay but way too many markups there....i went nearly a whole year without seeing anything Saturn on craigslist so getting those last 2 in the last few weeks was awesome!
