But the borderlands setting is pretty awful.
So Gearbox has the good comedy writers but is only providing assets.
Telltale is doing the development but they're horrible game developers and horrible at comedy writing.
The Borderlands setting is only interesting for its character writing that's from Gearbox.
The last time these two paired up it was a clusterfuck that's broken to this very day.
Why the fuck would anyone give a shit about this game? I realize I'm making a judgement leap by assuming that the writers will be Telltale's and not Gearbox's, and I really hope I'm wrong there because that is literally where the entire worth of this game lies.
On the bright side, it'll probably be better than the iOS Borderlands game so at least it won't be the worst thing to happen to this series.
And they're doing a Game of Thrones thing too?
At least that's potentially better than some shit stuck in the Borderlands universe.
Four games in different stages at the same time: A Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead Season Two, Borderlands, and Game of Thrones.
Handsome Jack is such a terrible character. If they can't realize that, this is going to be worse than Jurassic Park.
I suppose if you're really into the Borderlands setting/characters this is good news but for me who's never played the games (and has no desire to right now) it's not appealing in the slightest.
True. I guess if you're a fan of the Borderlands setting, then the setting of Borderlands might appeal to you (if you're the kind of guy who likes the things he enjoys). But I guess if you've never played it, you probably haven't played it, either.
imo, anyway.
This could be good! This could not be good. Not passing judgment now.
I'm just wondering how a normal person can wander around Pandora without 40 bandits and 27 skags spawning around them constantly. There's no time to use item-on-thing!
I thought he was a great villain, but they really went as far with him as they could in BL2 and detailed pretty much his entire life aside from the specifics of why he has the vault logo burned into his face. Going any further with him (either as a digital construct or whatever) does strike me as a terrible idea.
I'll be happy if they address the concept of why people only die for good when it's convenient to the plot with some complete bullshit logic that I can laugh at.
Heh, I half expect the moon base DLC to end with Roland showing up and being all, "what, did you geniuses forget about the New-U stations you use all the damn time?" And at first everybody's all happy, then Lilith realizes, "waitaminute, if you're still alive, then doesn't that mean..." "That's right kiddies! You didn't really think you'd get rid of me that easy, did you?"
Handsome Jack was mostly awesome
