No Man's Sky

Pretty sure this game is going to need its own thread-



So far we know it's about exploring the galaxy, although there's going to be plenty of combat. It's online but not necessarily so, like Dark/Demon's Souls. They're aiming for a 1970's/80's science fiction book cover style, and don't have much use for gritty dystopia. Platforms aren't announced but we can assume PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

So, optimism high.

Disappointing. As much as I like shooting things, we could use more games focused on exploration over action.

But if it's procedurally generated, what would you explore?

The problem here is that Joe Danger is fucking terrible.

Everyone works off the same seed. You explore what everyone explores. When you get to a place first, you get naming rights.

Agreed that Joe Danger was kind of terrible, but this looks like something special. I'm holding out hope until proven wrong.

Reminds me of Noctis but with combat.

It certainly looks interesting. Looks like Evochron with more detailed planets.

I've heard Noctis brought up a couple of times in relation to No Man's Sky, so figured I'd see what that's all about. Turns out it's about not running on 64-bit Win 7.

No, I get that, but will there be anything interesting to see? If there are 500000000 planets and they don't have anything cool about them, then the fact I claimed something means nothing
