Your Favorite Twitch Channels/Do You Stream?

I'll watch anyone doing speed runs live. My fav games to watch are actiony ones I really understand though. Castlevania SOTN, Mario 64, and any Metroid (I saw someone doing Prime runs that blew my mind) are my faves so far. I'll post the names eventually.

I'm like so old I'm too tired to bother playing games half the time and I just watch twitch. What a weird phenomenon. I wish this shit was going on when I was a teen.

Also, if you stream, post your twitch handle. I really wanted to do a drinking/co-op stream with my current housemate, but we never have time.

it sounds stupid in concept, but it's amazing in execution just due to how outlandish it is coupled with how notoriously shitty Yukes' AI logic is in the WWE games

Was a big part of the community from '08-'10 doing streaming, podcasts, etc back when it was still on justin.tv. The latest "have you heard of Twitch?" I keep seeing is like my mom finding out about Facebook.

I love Twitch. I never thought "game spectating" would ever be a thing, or that I'd enjoy it. I often have it in the background on the TV via the Twitch XBox app while I do other things. For me, it's more about the game being streamed rather than the player or personality. Saying that, one often has to go down to the far right (Xbox), far botton (PC) and watch the lesser viewed channels to see interesting games, as the top 10 viewed games are pretty stagnant (LoL, DOTA2, WoW, Starcraft 2, Minecraft, etc). There are a few players I sometimes return to: ManVSGame, JP McDaniel, etc. For speedruns, I go to Siglemc, Cosmo Wright, and a few others.

It's insane how many views that LoL gets on a given day. It's often over 100K, and that's without any major tournament occurring.

I've found myself watching a few SolForge streamers on Twitch but I wouldn't think they'd be interesting to anyone who doesn't play the game.

Watching someone do something difficult or practiced like a speed run is cool once in a while. Just watching someone play something, though, that sounds awful. I don't get it.

I like watching Starcraft 2 matches, even before I started playing the game. It's perfect for the format IMO - games ramp up quickly, very fast-paced, strategy on display, etc. LOL and DOTA take too long and nothing is happen 80% of the time.

My kid bro watches all this shit. Even games he has no interest in. It really is a different world.

I don't understand the allure at all, though I guess I have watched a couple streamed fighting game tournaments.

Also, get off my lawn.
