I imagine it's because the act of playing the game is transformative, and streaming doesn't actually reproduce the game. With non-interactive media, streaming is giving the whole thing away.

There are already a couple of competitive services out there: Hitbox TV and Azubu. Neither are anywhere as popular or robust as Twitch. It'll be interesting if streamers do an exodus to those service if Google youtubes Twitch up.

Yeah, I have a hitbox acct, but my 660 and my One play so nice with Twitch. Sad, really.
