Purdy. Not much else to say.
Yeah it's too early to really say much else about it other than it should look stunning on PS4 hardware.

That was my first thought when I saw the title.
That story sounds exactly like every other Uncharted.
It reads like a generic movie synopsis from the back of a DVD case, where they just switch the names and copy-paste with all the other similar titles.
Kill off Drake and make Sully the main character.
All Uncharteds are good to great, but they really upped the ante later.
The Vita one is the weakest of all of them.
I tried to play it once and it just felt boring, but I didn't get very far so I can't say I gave it a real shot.
The Vita is not the place to play Uncharted games. I wonder if that is compatible with the Vita TV?
I doubt it, the game makes generous use of touch controls. It's only 702x408 so would probably look like crap on your tv.
Uncharted GA is quite good. I would put it around the level of the first game, but the mechanics are better. I do recommend it.
The Vita game is still the best exclusive game on either current portable. It was in a dog fight with Revelaitons until that got ported.
I would pick 3DS Shinobi and some of Nintendo’s games easily over those two.
I like the Uncharted series but it doesn’t have enough depth in any area except presentation to make it great. I would love to see the PS4 one evolve the gameplay by having proper platforming and/or puzzles but I’m not counting on it.
I would pick Face Raiders over Uncharted.
Ha ha haaaaa.
I would! And did.
I wonder about you sometimes.
This looks like a remaster of an old game. Rehash city.
People thinking that is a bad thing is how good series get ruined.
That can be the case but it doesn't have to be. Imagine if Mario Bros. never evolved past the 1983 game.
I'll bet that, despite all of the grunting and yelling in that video, 75% of the actions were performed just by holding "Up".
Awww, that does not look that impressive at all. Where the hell is all the amazing Ps4 horsepower going? This gen continues to suck.
It's 1080p and 60fps and didn't trade performance and gameplay for better screen shots.
edit: It's also probably almost a year away, so there's lot of time for optimization.
Like I said earlier in the thread, proper platforming would be an improvement. I guess most people don't care, though.Quote:

Even then, the big take away is how much of an open, choose how you do it arena this is. Its a mix of uncharted with stealth and choose how you tackle of TLOU. I like it.
Did you go to Vegas? I am kicking myself for not. Even the flights are cheap.
I debated trying, but they weren't up after the keynote, and I didn't care enough to wait around. I have the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime preordered, which is much cheaper.
I watched the trailer, and this looks rad as fuck. Seems like more of the same at first, but the way he approached combat was totally different from what I have played of previous games and didn't just turn into a shooting gallery. I'm gonna have fun with stealth kills in this one
Environments look amazing.
A good Uncharted cannot be limited to such puerile language as "playable Indiana Jones". A good uncharted (i.e. Among Thieves) combines the best elements of Zelda (exploration in beautiful places) with the best elements of Mario (responsive platforming) and Gears of War (3rd person cover based shootering glory), equaling erection (my boner in your girlfriend).
Worthless if not Bloodborne, but because the PS4 Uncharted is real, Playstation 4 may still be a viable platform beyond From Software's meager efforts.
I guess I'm the only one who was totally impressed with that trailer?
It's a PS4 not a rocket ship, that's fucking way better looking than anything that's come out for the thing so far.
It looks good. I like Uncharted a lot.
I was kind of hoping Naughty Dog would do what they did last gen and scrap the old, successful IP for new IP, but whatever. I can do one more Uncharted game.
I think if it goes more in the direction that TLOU started (giving you options in combat, multiple directions to attack one problem from), and expand upon it (like multiple ways of getting to a destination, some sense of challenge in the platforming) this could be really good.
This looked excellent. I'm not sure what some of you expect to see . This was visually beautiful and everything else looked great too.
I don't even think it's the only thing Naughty Dog is working on right now. They have two teams. Now, it's possible that the other one is doing the Nathan Drake Collection or a Last of Us sequel, so it might not be new yet, but Naughty Dog never sticks with one IP too long.
I'd like to see them go back to an open world style of game.
They do and they don't have two teams. My friend was an animator there for Uncharted 3 and the Last of Us. He said depending on how many freelancers were being pulled in they could be working on 2 projects at a time or just 1.
My point is solely that there's no guarantee they're running a large group right now and working on 2 projects.
That makes sense, and if they were going to pool everyone to focus on one project, this would probably be it.
A Thief's End sounds pretty final.
They'll probably cop out and just have his brother die or something
That's pretty much what I gathered. Sully may be safe!
What are the odds that Drake gets betrayed?
About the same as him finding a chick.
The footage looked very good, it wasn't as nice looking as the Gamescom footage but I doubted it would look that good in gameplay.
Nice stealth additions to the gameplay as well.
I think my biggest issue with the visuals is how flat everything looks when Drake walks into a shadowed area.
The video was actually 30fps. I don't see the game doubling framerate even after "optimizations."
I don't know lighting and shading in shadows is more than fine tuning. That's a big aspect of the lighting engine I hope they fix.
Naughty Dog is calling what we saw "pre-alpha."
"Stable 30hz"? I don't think so. I saw frame rate drops throughout that video.
The problem is that people were expecting Naughty Dog to blow them away like they did the past few games. And what we got was a prettier Uncharted 3. I realize that UC has become one of the top franchises for Sony but people do get bored of this stuff. Look at how God of War 3 and Ascension were received last gen.
I think it's easy to forget how terrible last-get game actually look. I remember thinking Tomb Raider PS4 only looked marginally better, until directly compared the two.
Naughty Dog got some of the best visuals possible out of the PS3, but those games won't compare to what this will be. There's still a year to go, and graphics are some of the final things to really fall into place. I already think it looks crazy good, and only expect it to be better at launch.
I've been playing through The Last of Us on the PS3. The game looks pretty good for a PS3 title, but the sudden drops in FPS and low-res textures are pretty glaring. I was at a section of the game where a Bloater started spewing stuff and the frame-rate dropped to a slide show.
Has anyone here played the PS4 version? Would you say the visuals and performance are substantially better?
I'm just asking, because I'm thinking Uncharted 4 might be like a facelift of Uncharted 3 and might be comparable to how TLOS made the transfer over to the PS4.
TLOU on PS4 is a consistent 1080p and 60fps, but it looks like the PS3 game. It's like running an old PC game on a new computer. This goes far beyond that, but it still looks substantially similar.
I don't know, I was definitely impressed by the PS4 version. Sure, it doesn't look like a true next-gen game, but man is it pretty. It's definitely a case of playing TLOU the way it was always meant to be played.
It's also $35 digitally on PSN right now, so go for it!
I don't have my PS4 yet. My wife pretty much told me I was getting a PS4 for Christmas, after I asked if she was getting me an Xbox.
You can always buy it on the web store, and have it waiting for you!
Somewhat predictably, Digital Foundry did a better analysis job of the gameplay trailer than we did:
Quote:
In a way, the demo flips our expectations somewhat. Naughty Dog may simply be keeping its powder dry for now, but the visuals seen in this gameplay segment aren't quite the jaw-dropping spectacle we had hoped for based on the immense promise of the E3 teaser. Clearly, the slice of gameplay seen here is very attractive, if a bit subdued overall. However, we are surprised by the large number of meaningful changes to the gameplay that the studio is showcasing in this segment. First impressions might suggest a visually upgraded 1080p Uncharted experience - something we would relish - but could it be that the real generational leap lies in how it plays?
I guess you have to give DF something to do, but I don't see why they waste their time with games that aren't actually out.
How long does it take to copy and paste "1. PC, 2. PS4, 3. One" over and over?
Spring 2016. I had a feeling that may happen. Maybe I jinxed it by mentioning it in some thread.
I honestly didn't expect it to hit this year at all, I doubt Spring also. Wouldn't be surprised if it cooks til Fall 2016, which lets be honest, if it needs to be pushed, it should be.
MS threw Halo away, I wouldn't expect Sony to do the same to UC.
Yeah, I'd always rather have a better game a few months later.
No, that doesn't apply to you, PC port of GTAV.
so much for that year of ps4
I didn't even know it was supposed to come out this year. lol
Disappointing.
PS4: You'll take your one game a year and you'll like it.
How exactly do they continue to sell so many systems almost a year and a half later? There isn't a damn thing worth playing that is exclusive to the platform that I can think of.
Didn't you buy two such systems?
8GB GDDR5
But seriously, IF you don't have a PC, then it's a fine platform. If you do, though, it's a Resogun and Driveclub machine.
I'm not trying to high horse it here, I'm just shocked that they still haven't released a triple A exclusive yet are still able to move millions of systems. On top of that, they have zero urgency to get one out.
I bought a PS4 about 3 months after it was released and the first game I bought for it was Lords of the Fallen many months later. The only other game I've purchased for it was Far Cry 4. Both were good/great times but an experience I could have gotten elsewhere. Thankfully a couple of good looking independent games are due out soon.
I bought a PS4 and was given an XBONE for this past Xmas. Spec for spec the PS4 wins but as far as exclusives, the XBONE has the edge with ease and that's not saying much.
You mean the free PS+ version of Driveclub?
Really cool and generous of them to offer that.
This generation is a running joke. At least we should have one real 9+/10 non-sports/racing exclusive in two weeks between the two consoles, barring a catastrophe.
:wtf: Most people here aren't interested in those genres for whatever reason, so naming The Show and/or Forza doesn't do any good.
Forza is great though :(
The gen is pretty rough though. Too bad the Wii U couldn't be considered a part of it.
I kind of want Bloodborne to be bad. Not for system wars ammo, but in a watching the world burn way.
I just want it to get a few bad reviews so the internet will cry again
I already paid for it
There is zero chance it will be bad. I couldn't possibly care less what the reviews say.
Still 5x more than Sony or MS.
