Star Wars: Battlefront (2015; PC, PS4, One)

I put a bunch of hours into the PS4 ver. It's a really beautiful game that is completely lacking in any form of fun. I'll admit I've never played a Battlefront title, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Now I know. I'm glad they released a beta for this, saved me 60 bucks.

There is a balance problem between the Rebel and Imperial forces. It seems like the Imperials have a much better weapon selection and were usually the victors in most of the matches.

I really loved playing SW Battlefront 2 on the Xbox. It had a nice variety of ground and space combat based battles.

I've put around 8 hours into the beta and every single match of Walker Assault I've played the Imperial side has won. At best the rebels usually destroy one AT-AT while the other is about a minute away from the win with 70%+ health

Sounds like Battlefield Vietnam, where the opposing forces are uneven.

I'm debating what version to get first. Leaning towards XBO first and then PC later on during a sale, since I'll probably prefer to be playing with a controller.

It's not even the unbalance in the game. Which yes is ridiculous, I probably put about 9 hours into the beta and only saw the rebels win Hoth maybe 2 or 3 times total. It just feels like there is Zero strategy to the game and its whomever sees who first gets the kill. I don't know if I can put my finger on it. I put a lot of time into it trying to see what people really liked about the series, and trying to give it a chance but I just did not have fun with it.

As with most large team objective games, if you're by yourself playing with others who are also only randoms then it's just going to be nonsense chaos. They don't really gel without a group to play with.

Also:

I'm sure a lot of hardcore Battlefront fans would disagree with me, but I really just wanted Battlefield Star Wars.

This game is boring as shit. It looks gorgeous as all get out, but we've all played 30 different iterations of this game on the OG xbox like 15 years ago, and there is absolutely nothing new here. Just because its Star Wars does not automatically make it good.
