I wonder how much of that footage was from the single player campaign?
The PS4 comes with Darth Vader on the side and a different controller color scheme.

Nope
There's a mode where you have bots instead of people. That's the single player campaign.
Oh, yeah, I heard about that.
The previous Battlefront titles had that as well. They are objective based missions with bots. My guess is that the footage where you see 4 storm troopers being flung into the air is from the single player game.
Yeller. I feel I have to tell you that you're dangerously close to turning into Hipster-Yeller, a person who is never satisfied with anything. Please discontinue this path you are walking, as I can't be bothered to read yet another person who is never satisfied.
You COULD have commented that this is a lazy Vader print that uses the exact same pose as the White PSP Battlefront. That would be a critique worth making. Just moaning about how much Darth Vader merch is in a store you probably don't even visit is a bit much.
Pfffff spend that Star Wars money, boy!
I really like the originals. Watched New Hope just the other day. It is still completely and outrageously goddamn oversaturated right now. Battlefront has *never* been a good game. It has many game-like features.
Did you come in here to troll your hate for Star Wars Battlefront Negative Nancy?
I got quoted, I came back. Suck it uppp.
You got quoted in a thread about a game you don't like. Yeah, that makes sense.
It's an odd game for TNL to go gaga over.
A lot of TNL users had the original Xbox and SW Battlefront was a big online title for the console. I played the shit out of the original.
Weird. I had a cousin who was about eight years younger, he was super into 'em. Seemed like a mediocre shooter capture the flag duct taped to mediocre aerial combat, but whatever works man!
It was more than that. You could jump in an AT-AT or a Snow Speeder on the planet Hoth, destroy the shield generators on the opponents ships, and have combat between fighters flying from their base ship to the opponents base ship.
Silver or Real Tree Camo duct tape?
I guess people with EA Access, like me, can play this right now for 10 hours.
That's not very nice of them to do to people with EA Access. It's like they're punishing you.
Early places will probably have this tomorrow, if not already.
The mission mode is such a tease for what a real campaign could of been like. I fooled around with some of the modes that weren't in the beta. The Heroes mode was pretty fun.
Guess I should fire up Origin and install this while I'm at work tonight. For some reason I thought it didn't come out for another week.
This game is fun, for reals.
Echo Mog's sentiment about the campaign though.
I played it for a bit today. It's for the fans only. It plays perfectly well and looks great but I see no reason to play this as a MP shooter over Halo 5, BLOPS 3, Destiny, etc. Heck even Hardline brings more to the table. I would buy it half off in March or something, that's about it.
Does it feel oddly weightless like the other Battlefront games?
I don't have time to play this game right now. Fallout 4 pretty much took the next month of gaming time that I'll have.
It may not be the best review but Gamespot sums up how I feel about the game nicely.
I can't believe how gorgeous this game is. Saying that it's like playing the movies isn't even hyperbole.
It's stupid how good looking it is. The little crystals in the ice caves catch my eye every time.
I wish they built a campaign around it, because while it looks good, I have little interest in it. Jealous of how good it looks
I hope Visceral's single player action/adventure looks as good for sure.
I'll have to wait until Saturday to play this. I'm working out of town this week. :(
I'll have to juggle time between this and fallout 4.
Got this for PS4...
Looks slick, game itself is soulless. It's the kinda game that you don't care if you win or lose. It's perfect disposable fun IF you're a Star Wars fan. I like it so far.
I played the Beta on PC and all the reviews I've been reading on the final version have confirmed my impressions. It's a gorgeous-looking game with awesome sound, but has no real substance or staying power. I played Titanfall for a month and haven't played it since. In fact, I deleted it off my HD. I was really hoping this game would have a true single-player campaign, but they went the Titanfall route and for that reason I won't buy this game until it's practically free. Hopefully there will be a sequel that has a single-player campaign. I like multiplayer games, but they had an opportunity to knock this game out of the park given the access they had to Star Wars IP. Instead, they essentially shat the bed. So much unrealized potential.
Three major problems I have so far with this game are the terrible melee, the actual finding other people in the maps, and the wide open areas.
The melee feels floaty, completely stops the character from moving immediately, has no impact, and I'm not even sure there's a sound effect when it connects. After the meaty hits in Destiny and Halo it makes the game feel like it's lacking a major element, especially considering the awkward way they handle weapon loadouts.
For some reason I'm also having a super hard time seeing enemy players in this game compared to Destiny and Halo. My radar shows me someone is in a direction but they never seem to actually be there, and I can't tell if it has too much range or what. I usually don't see people at all until they're already shooting at me which usually is happening from all the way across the map, and the super short TTK and no escape options means I'm generally dead if I'm getting hit at all.
I'm also not really a fan of the wide open areas, especially on Hoth. The tunnels and hanger bays are great places to peek around and bounce grenades, but outside it's just people shooting from five miles off to try and hit a single pixel in the distance. It's kind of true to the movie, sure, but it's not a fun area to actually play in. Maybe if there were deeper and more trenches to run along and jump between it wouldn't be so bad. Tatooine is probably the best layout and Endor is pretty good too, but considering how few maps overall there are each one needs to be well done.
I'm definitely enjoying it, but something needs to be done about the maps and radar for me to really put this in rotation for anything besides the theme.
Holy shit @ the Toddyhancer mod
No one cares about it. The single player matters as much as it did for Quake III.
I figure it's just as bad as it was in the original, just killing enemies and running from checkpoint to checkpoint.
That's pretty crazy looking. Sorta looks like a photo slightly-burned with a sharpness filter.
It looks great in stills but supposedly drops the frame rate 30-40 frames.
I imagine. Looks like a stupid amount of post processing.
It makes you wonder just how much the consoles are holding back the potential of PC
If time and money weren't still real things that factored into development, sure.
Consoles keep PC games from flying off into space with the goddamn keyboard shortcuts and macros. That seems fine.
Is anyone playing this on PC besides (rarely) Mech and me? I've played a fair amount of all the modes while whoring achievements, accomplishments and dioramas. I'm up to level 38 and am hoping to get to 40 tonight so I can play as a Scout Trooper, a Rodian, a Duros and/or a Sullustan. I haven't touched the missions yet beyond the tutorial, but I'd certainly be willing to co-op those if anyone is interested.
edit: I almost forgot that the Battle of Jakku level(s) go live tomorrow too if you preordered.
This game is rapidly losing my attention. It's fun in short bursts but I can't sit and play it all night like I could a Battlefield or even a COD.
I love that I can change my default gun and grenade from the companion app in response to today's nerf patch without even logging into the game. Now I'm good to go when my meetings are over.
That would melt my graphics card.
Beautiful. Now if only you weren't playing fuckin' Battlefront.
Lots of updates announced today, both paid and free. I'm not feeling that season pass for anywhere near $50, so I'll teach them a lesson by moving on to another one of their multiplayer games next month.
Which platform? I could use the co-op achievement.
Ban please!
I'm playing it on PS4.
This is the first game I loaded up to test out my new 5.1 setup. Wow! It's pretty incredible. I guess this is what I have been missing all these years.
Ya the audio, graphics and presentation are all top tier. The game is what sucks.
I like it in hour chunks, honestly. It's simple but fast paced and I always get high scores which is fun.
But then again it's tough to find a game I can play for more than that time these days.
I might need the season pass after all. Check out this mode that is launching with the Death Star DLC:
