Since the crosshair never seems to break alignment from the nose of the ship/tank, hopefully that means they've de-emphasized the gyro controls everyone seemed to hate so much in the E3 build.

In addition to the Japanese web site gameplay video that Melf posted earlier, there's also this gameplay footage from the recent Direct:
The game looks remarkably better since last we saw it, as it gets closer to completion - thankfully they gave it more time instead of rushing it out for the holidays. Especially the pace of the gameplay which was my greatest concern, as noted earlier in this thread. Granted these are only trailers, but hopefully they ring true for the game as a whole. Knowing the Gyrowing with its tethered robot is for stealth operations/exploration also helps make it a little more palatable and fit the frame of the game much better.
Platinum being involved instilled some optimism in the game playing well and allowing for both the Gamepad and Pro Controller, as they did a good job with that in The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta, and this new footage seems to display a greater reflection of that. The dual screen controls are an advertisement/selling point, especially for the Wii U gamepad, similar to the gyro controls for Star Fox 64 3D.
I'm definitely more excited for the game now and looking forward to its release next year.
The arwing seems to look a little better but outside of that graphically it seems pretty consistent with the earlier trailer.
Still, this and Zelda are going to be big reasons for me to either get a Wii U or an NX.
Do people really want multiple vehicles in these things?
No.
Yes.
I mean no.
I really don't know! I was never a big Starfox 64 dude.
Starfox 64 was pretty sweet.
The N64 BlurŪ kept me far away.
