TNL doesn't play games.

They do. For about two days. And then they never play them again.
I got a Wii U and Mario Kart like two weeks after Mario Kart came out and you guys had no recollection of what Karts or Marios were by then.
Credit to Mzo for noticing this: at 2:12 in IGN's video review for Splatoon, you can see me killing their reviewer. *heh*
it's not
Splatoon marks my first frustration with this amiibo bullshit. I don't follow the amiibo news very closely, but Amazon was nice enough to send me an e-mail, letting me know the Splatoon amiibos were going up at 6 p.m. I thought to myself, "eh, what the hell, this game is pretty awesome, I can camp out on my computer and get these cool Splatoon figurines."
6 o'clock rolls around, I see the three pack of the figures for $34.99, and say to myself, "I don't want a stupid three pack. I want these as stand alone figures." So, I add the Boy Inkling amiibo and Female Inkling amiibo to my cart right away, for the standard $12.99...then, all I need to do is add the Squid amiibo to my cart.....but wait....oh no, for some reason, the squid figure is not available as a standalone figure...it's only available in the three pack. By the time it takes me the whole two minutes to figure this out, the three pack is sold out on Amazon, but I can get it from Amazon third party scalpers for $60...WTF?! Why do they have to release these things in such a confusing manner?
This leads me to spending the next two hours of my life refreshing Amazon's page and scouring eBay for these damn things...trying to convince myself that it's ok to pay $50-60 for the three pack now. Ultimately, I can't pull the trigger on the higher price. Talk about putting myself through undue mental stress, for some damn plastic toys....NEVER AGAIN. FUCK YOU NINTENDO!
But back on topic....Splatoon is fun. Yay!
This one has really tight mechanics and is a lot of fun to play. The idea that a new multiplayer arena shooter can come out in 2015 and bring along a ton of innovations and improvements is kind of mind-blowing. Seriously, will I be playing it in a month? Maybe, but even if I am, it's not like I am doing it that much. I play games like 5 hours a week. Most nights I spend my free time with the wifey or practicing guitar.
Quote the Buddha, suffering is caused by desire.
The three pack wasn't rare. You can probably still find it at stores.
