After doing some research, I figured the PS2 one with a converter is more versatile. There's a PS2 converter for *every system ever*, whereas USB generally only works with USB.

Indeed. Good call.
Where do I buy one of those pads?
walmarts.
yah walmarts.
I had good luck with eBaying mine from Sapporo for $40 shipped, usually they seem to go for $80 or so boxed if you're one of those box-dudes. The KOF '94 Rebout pack has the same pad and goes for pretty high, but it's easier to find than the pad on its own.
It works great! Getting used to the horizontals took a second, but a few dozen practice dragon punches in Third Strike in either direction and I've got it figured out.
Rugal's already making excuses.

Tsk.
(Only complaint is that the cord is like... OG Japanese PS1 controller short. Extension cords are cheap and not even laggy though, so whatever!)
I would put it above the JP Saturn Pad. It really is that nice.
Hey, don't go crazy on us.
Microswitches x nicer buttons.
I've used both, and you're on crack.
Don't get me wrong, the PS2 Neo CD pad is the second best there is.
