I don't think gamevet is saying it's okay, just that he understands some people crack under continuous high stress life and death situations and that not approaching every situation like it could be life threatening could mean their death. Happens to a lot of military guys to where they can't even integrate back into regular society.

There should be a more consistent career punishment for cops who murder. It's going to happen sometimes, unfortunately, but there seems to be more cover up within the organization than proper response. Too much giving someone paid time off and not enough losing the license to practice.

At the very least they should cut the shit and grow a sac and deal with it like Doctors do. Get Malpractice insurance. Owe up to your shit. Do a real investigation. And if it goes one way, the insurance pays out to the family.

I have no idea why we baby cops on one hand, and treat them like knights on the other. They can at least be held to the same standards as a doctor in a hospital in Tupelo Mississippi.

The argument that the cops are just cracking under stress is complete horseshit. There are a lot of cops who harass and mistreat people all the time, but only get called out for it if someone died and a bystander recorded it.
Having an independent body to police the police is really the only solution.

Not unique to police. I don't believe it can be prevented but I do believe it can be more controlled than it is now.
