I'm not at all familiar with the original Type-0, despite the fan translation that was released not too long ago, and was lukewarm at the initial E3 announcement of this current-gen HD remaster of the PSP game. However the footage from this new TGS trailer looks intriguing and has me much more interested.
The battle system is featured heavily in the trailer, it's great that it looks good, but hopefully there's a neat world to explore too.
Who knows when the Final Fantasy XV demo will come out though.

I still think I'd rather get a Japanese copy of the PSP game and apply the translation patch. This seems much more suited to portable.
Then maybe I'll ace the Type-0 songs on Theatrhythm!

Huh. I haven't kept up with that game and this is the first time I've really seen footage of it. That looks very, very similar to the bits of combat in the FF15 footage that just came out, which I found really appealing. I guess I'm going to have to check this game out!

So... the dub on this makes me feel like an angsty sub vs dub teenager. It's just SO BAD. Suzaku is a proper noun, it's not "Vermillion Bird", fuck even phoenix would be a better descriptor for this. I've heard SHOOT TIL YOU RUN OUT OF AMMO more times than anybody should in their life.
Thank goodness for the JP voice, at least that way I don't know what they're yelling about.
Edit: Turns out Suzaku can be called Vermillion Bird, but it's such a literal out of the book translation. They use Tasuki Bridge and Chichiri is a chocobo (Both are Stars of Suzaku) but then call Suzaku vermillion bird. I'm probably the only person irritated by it, oh well.

So can I crank this game to Hard and not get bored of the combat? It looks awfully pretty and well-animated. I want to try it but I'm afraid of these pretty battles turning into a slog.

This is what happens when weeaboos who treat videogames and anime as sacred texts get translation work.

It would be a lot better to just leave it named Suzaku.

I wonder how the PSP fan translation treats it. Considering I won't be getting a PS4 for a while, maybe I'll find out!

Tain: Probably? It suggests starting at Cadet, but I'm starting on Officer, I died a few times in the beginning but that was because I was learning.
ARBM: It probably won't bother anybody else, but it bugs the shit out of me. I hear them say Suzaku and the text says vermillion bird and I want to throw shit out the window.
Edit: It is nice though, wanting to get off work and play a Final Fantasy that doesn't involve lightning on a console. Yes, I know it's old, yes I know it's part of FNC. No you don't have to have played XIII-2-3 just read a description of what a L'cie and Fal'cie are.
