aw yeah, girl.
Computer died! So I bought a new one. And got a Creative Cloud subscription. Because fuck it, deadlines.
Asus tower with an AMD10 chip in it and 8GB ram, which got upped to 14gb the second I got it home.
Where do you even find finished towers at? Last few places I was at had nothing but laptops.
Best Buy! We left the house at 8pm and got home at 9 with a tower, it was allllll the way to the back of the store and was the only one out of maybe five models that had a decent processor in it.
You have to have a Fry's Electronics near you Yeller.
I guess you found what you wanted but Fry's usually has a decent selection of everything.
There are Fry's like an hour from here in any direction! Didn't cut it. This machine's pretty much a tourniquet for freelance until I can build something long-term solid.
The Last Of Us Remastered and Trials Fusion (PS4). Holy crap LoU looks amazing on this system, I'm already twice as far as I got in the PS3 version (about 2 hours). Had a hankering for Trials again and hoped the graphics would blow me away, it's nearly the same but does load a little faster. Crushed the game in 2 hours, all golds except extreme tracks, because I was very tired by that point.
Pay $1 a month forever to lease this tractor. What could possibly go wrong?
So far, it looks to be comparatively cheap in the short run, you get *everything* for the price of one program over the course of a year's subscription, and you can shut the valve off whenever you want.
The real bitch is going to be when they eventually up the subscription rates. (They also have a tendency of breaking bits of Flash from time to time, but I can't say that's ever not been the case)
Whaaaaaat.
Netgear wifi extender, now I can stream porn anywhere.
I have CC through work, and there's just not enough in the recent versions of apps to convince me that going that route is actually better than owning CS6. Having the latest and greatest is nice, but, I don't know - I feel like it's still be a while before I'd feel like I was really missing out.
I've had few problems with the DRM stuff, but to be fair, I haven't been in many situations where I was away from an Internet connection for an extended period of time.
I think the real test for me is going to be how it handles deadlines, and if things are down to the wire is it going to do what it's supposed to. That's really all that matters, I'm not super-worried about being in a tree with a laptop and unable to get Adobe Lightroom to work or something.
Completely agree. I've been on an older version for a long while and still don't feel like I'm running a digital dinosaur. I honestly wouldn't even complain if Adobe hadn't pulled distribution of CS6 as an option. Of course it's logical for them to do so, but it doesn't make it any less scummy.
I guess I'll just eventually pay for somebody's old, sealed copy of CS6.
A legit copy of the full CS6 suite is currently $2,550.00, soooo yeah. Subscription will either be a stop-gap to that or ???
On the plus side, it's a writeoff! Running bootlegs while doing design business is fine to a point, but being up on modern stuff might be nice.
I don't know what X-Out is but I want it just based on that cover art.
it was a lease scam they ran before the great depression. You could get a tractor and other shit for your farm so log as you paid a dollar a month, forever. If you didn't pay one month, they took your stuff back.
which worked great for the leaser until everything went tits up and they repoed a ton of tractors that they couldn't release nor make money to pay off their own loans.
Huh. Actually never heard that before.
People have just generally always been terrible, haven't they?
Too bad no one will be able to bootleg CS6 *ever again* in a pinch.
A few more for the portable collection.

Lemme know how that portable Godzilla is.
Probably iffy Wayforward license action but hey...they copied Kings of Monsters at least.
A second rate King of Monsters beats NO king of monsters! They sure did get a little kid to draw some of their graphics though. Didn't anybody tell them Godzilla isn't actually green?

Picked up Super Smash Bros for 3DS, and also bought Silent Hill and Suikoden from this week's SEN sale.
Moar Game Gear games! The first 4 came from SSJN (thanks, man!):

He also showed me an auction for this, which was really cheap because it supposedly had a water-damaged insert and torn box. The game arrived and looks like new, so I don't know what the seller meant. Everything is in great shape, and it only cost $16.

I also got some sweet Transformers comics:

I was wondering if you picked PAB up. I played it for the first time the other day. Didnt seem horrible.
Picked up the cartridge version of Smash Cuzzins so I can sell it later when I get bored with it for basically the same price.
Silent Hill and Castlevania SOTN from SEN.
Everdrive haul!

And yes, I'm fully aware that one of these is totally unnecessary.
I have to get a Mega Overdrive. Where'd you buy it?
neo-geo.com had a group buy, I missed it too.
Yeah, group buy from Retrogate. I got the others from Stone Age Gamer since they sell board only Everdrives with labels for the same price as Retrogate now.
Btw Melf, I've got an extra Genesis Everdrive V3 I no longer need if interested. I upgraded mostly because the Mega supports save states.
If melf pass, I am interested.
I pre-ordered Super Smash Bros 3DS a few days ago and it shipped yesterday. The odd thing is that the tracking says it should arrive tomorrow, on a Sunday.
They do that now.
Shadow of Mordor (PS4) Really fun so far. The action took me a second but now it feels very fluid and reminds me of the Arkham games. Dude climbs shit like he wants to be in Assassin's Creed's next game, and even swan dives off of ledges into bushes. There are lots of browns and greys in this game but it's still pretty.
P4AU Weeeeee!
These two wayward souls found their way onto my doorstep yesterday.

Rumble Fish! Wee!
Word. Both of those are wonderful.

The October barrage has officially begun.
Here's the US cover!

Also on PSN
http://www.emuparadise.me/MAME/titles/strider.png
Oh, I guess this comes with Strider 2 also.
Today was "Raid PSN Day"
I got both Strider 2 and Vib Ribbon. The third Persona 4 Ultimax DLC character came out alongside a few free items, so I grabbed all of those. Thanks, Sony Rewards credit!
Then the PS+ list. Remember, it's the first Tuesday of the month!
40 ms of lag before even taking your TV into account.
=/
PS3 Alien Isolation came in! I like it a bunch, just got to the first Alien kill.
Finally got around to playing Pier Solar via Steam. Enabling the original graphics and arranged soundtrack fosters a strong sense of nostalgia, like you're playing a long-lost Sega CD RPG. So much of the music sounds like material that never made it into the original Lunar. Some of the design decisions are questionable, particularly the lengthy spell animations that can't be skipped even when you're just healing outside of battle, but overall it's an obvious labor of love and an amazing achievement for such a small team.
Somehow I missed this post. Thanks, but I want save states too! It'll make games like Might and Magic so much easier to play.
New games

All are complete, and Woody Pop was sealed. I'm really liking Woody Pop. It's an Arkanoid clone, but a well-made one. I like that you can choose the direction you want to go in to advance to the next stage. Vampire is as close as GG and Master System owners got to a Castlevania, and it's actually a pretty cool little game.
I also re-bought this:

I love the new one, but this is a genuine classic, imo. I wish the new game let Rangers use turrets. :(
Attachment 75239
Marvel Select Venom. He looks more like a Sam Keith character than a McFarlane, I approve. Way top heavy (even without the six extra heads), first figure I've ever thought about getting a stand for.
Did you send me one recently? I haven't gotten one from you.
There's some good stuff on Melfs YouTube channel showing off his collection.
The new Trials DLC has more tracks than the last two, with five Mediums, two Hards, one Extreme and then an FMX and skill game. All golds and achievements > 2 hours.
Got Driveclub for review and snagged Pix the Cat and some other shit on PS+.
I caved. Attachment 75251
Even so my friend bought my old 3DS XL for 120 bucks so I paid less then 80 for this.
I don't understand that thing at all, they got the design right with the old flip-top SP.
I like it. It's a heck of a lot better then the old red one I bought on release.
Specifically referring to the NES controller decal. Like... it's got the NES top on the box, right there. Just put that on the lid and the controller on the controls, ten points. They completely whiffed it.
Traded in a broken PS3 for $35 and used it towards this:

Today I went to the local retro store and got some cheap goodies:

All are complete except for EDF.
Ecco the Dolphin is one of the prettiest Dreamcast games. I've haven't played since 2005 but I have a feeling it holds up (for the Dreamcast era).
I don't know if this is still redeemable, but here's a club nintendo PIN from a copy of Endless Ocean Blue World that I picked up today.

Says some one already registered it, I hope who ever from TNL did that says thank you to you.

Great big artbook! Spite comics! Music comics! Smut comics! Generic comics! And a few cool prints from the APE comics convention last weekend.
The Generic Comic Book is something weird 80s Marvel put out, I get the idea that somebody over there really liked Repo Man.
... God dammit.
Thanks for that info. Now I can't unsee it.
HA! That's incredible.
More than meats the eye?
I don't see it.
I guess I kind of see it when it's TINYPIC and not real size
whatever, trash
Took advantage of that other place's sale price to get both a shelf copy and a playable copy for the price of one copy.
Attachment 75301
That's a pretty awesome nerdbag.
You're an awesome nerdbag
:tu:
What's the sale price, and where? I don't have a copy yet.
I think he got it for $20 at the place where Games Stop. Also, Amazon has it for $21.something right now.
This RPG looks creepy and dull. The demo I played wasn't really fun at all. What do you guys see in it?
Profit potential and moe. I believe the two are connected.
Well, durr. That's obvious for that copy.
I meant "why would you want to play it?"
Why would you want to order wings with the hot sauce that they make you sign a waiver before trying?
What have you done that you are so punishing yourself for?
You may get your picture on some wall, most likely a governmental agency.
Lol.
I have this thing for owning weird Japanese games on my Vita. And I've heard it actually isn't a terrible RPG.
I decided I want to be a Gaming Hipster and support sustainability, so I got a box full of Japanese Mega Drive and Saturn games.
Got a model 2 Genesis and Sega CD for $45 from a dude on ng.com, when I got it I discovered it was a VA3, one of the few models with good sound and the ability to easily svideo mod. Plans, I has them...
