I think the reason they're not announcing a new season yet is because they don't want to spoil that the ending of this season would lead to such a thing. It's pouring massive new subscriber numbers into Showtime online streaming services, I can't imagine they're going to leave that on the table.
I agree Yeller. There are still some loose ends that haven't been addressed as well as new ones that will be created. This will continue. I'd kinda like to have a real movie now, not a series that wastes a ton of screen time.
