SOCOM was pretty huge on PS2.
I guess five people would account for all the PS2 players who used the network for something besides FFXI.
The more I look at the stuff not working right the more I think the game wasn't ready, but had to be scrambled out to hit that magic Nov 10-19 range that gives MS such a boner.
The matchmaking is half baked, the ranking straight up says "coming soon", the 20gb patch, achievements not unlocking etc.
The game will be incredible when it's finished, it just isn't finished right now.
It'll be great when I can see a title screen after I hit start. Downloaded it again, still doing the same stupid shit. Anyone else have the digital version and in their game items the 10.8 MB extra says READY TO INSTALL but you can't do anything? Or does that always happen?
I can't wait to get home so I can chat with someone in the Phillipines who doesn't even know what a Halo is. Awesome. PC games work better than this and they don't even operate with the same software and hardware.
So I loaded up Halo 3 and the game looks great at 1080p/60fps. It's pretty rad actually.
I picked up this collection yesterday, and I'm playing through Halo for the first time. I made it through about Chapter 5, and I find the overall shooting mechanics to be great, but the level design is pretty bland IMO. Do these games get any better, or is the first one the best the series has to offer? Also, WTF is up with that warthog vehicle. Shittiest controls ever. I can't even drive in a straight line. lol.
I really hope you learn how to drive in a straight line by the last level for the sake of your sanity.
