I bought a 55" JVC LED for $550 (with Roku stick) at Costco. People complain about 60Hz but I have no problem with ghosting or blurry images. Certainly not the best TV but for the price/size, it is really good value. I also saw a 48" JVC LED for $430 (or $450) if you don't need 55".

Plasma or die.

I bought a plasma, and wouldn't buy another.

I really like mine, but I'll be honest, I am tempted to get something new this week

Considering nobody is making plasma TVs in 2015, a lot of people agree with me. It's dead technology.

If you're going to play games on it, look into the input lag factor. It's the single most important stat you won't see mentioned on any of the boxes.

Some are absolutely atrocious.

I kinda want that Samsung UHD TV for 900 at Amazon BF ;o

Rambo and I got a Panasonic Viera LCD. No complaints from me a year and a half in.

Most LED TVs have game mode that reduces lag. I am not a fighting man so I can't really comment on frame count blah blah.
