I don't know how long the theory has been around but I just found out about the Link is dead in Majora's Mask theory. Cool theory that makes sense and oddly adds to my anticipation of playing through the game again.
I'm gonna give this one another shake, because having a more detailed notebook sounds like it'd alleviate a lot of issues I have with the original.
I'm not. I'm skipping it because I know I won't play it, just like I never played OOT3D when I had that.
I'm sure it's great though.
Loving what Geo is up to here.
So meta
It's a race between this and Bloodborne for my personal 2015 GOTY, unless something else more innovative or cool is released. I doubt it
I went back to my old save file and tried to play through the second dungeon over the weekend on N64.
I did a bunch of annoying fetch quests to unlock the dungeon, took a long time to beat the level and its boss, had to carry a powder keg up a mountain so I could enter (and win) a Goron race, and then I tried to give the gold dust I won to the blacksmith so he would upgrade my sword. But by now it's day three, so the blacksmith couldn't do shit for me.
That means I have to reset time to day one, beat the dungeon boss again, buy another powder keg, win the race again, and fast forward time until my sword upgrade is finally ready.
Fuck this game and it's stupid, unnecessary time mechanics.
I'll probably try doing the third dungeon this weekend.
Coming back as the dead Goron hero and seeing the reactions of everyone in town was a cool moment with many feels -- especially after you restore warmth to the land. So I'll give this game that.Quote:
IMO Majora's is still the best 3D Zelda. It's so unique and weird.
But most of the game so far is just doing dumb fetch quests for dumb NPCs to get more masks/items that will open up the dungeons, which are way too few in number, though they are pretty well designed.
I've never liked any 3D Zelda. Wind Waker was the most tolerable, but it was still pretty bad.
The series just did not survive the transition into 3d.
