I think I'd still rather play Sega's The Lost World, but some nostalgia goggles may be involved in that statement.
I'm also annoyed that it's completely possible to bring this type of game home and yet they rarely come. It would actually make consoles useful for something other than first and second party games.
Makes me wish the PlayStation Move hit it off. I'd buy this for $30 on PS3.

Looks very... modern. That's not really a good thing for lightgun games.
Modern mainstream gamers don't value any game you can coin feed your way through. 1cc = waste of money to them.
Their Aliens game was horseshit, they had you shooting "Killer Condom"-looking leeches at some point.

Yeah I don't know how well The Lost World has held up, but it was amazing at the time it came out. It was way better and much more violent than the plain "Jurassic Park" light gun game that most Chuck E Cheese locations had.Quote:

Virtua Cop 2 is still better than most lightgun games. It's not just that you're shooting targets, it's the variety of situations. These things are just enemy hoses.

Some arcade games unfortunately seem to ramp up the difficulty to absurd levels with cheap sudden hits and use infinite continues (and in some cases not resetting your score on a continue) as a cop-out. Take Terminator Salvation or Konami's Teraburst for an example. Even Target Terror and Dead Escape are somewhat guilty. Checkpoints at continue seem good but probably might piss off some players and drive them away.Quote:

If the bridge gets taken out at the end of stage 3, it ends there and you don't play stage 4 or get to see the real ending. Namco should have gone a bit further and added a bad ending after stage 4 for credit-feeders.
For home versions, they should probably allow only single credit scores to make the online leaderboard.
