Amen. I'm wanting Street Fighter V, not Street Fighter II Triple Dash- especially with Ultra SF IV already being on PS4 & PC.
It's time for Capcom to start revealing new characters, and SFV could use a jiu-jitsu grappler for something new. Retiring some of the original World Warriors may not be a bad idea. Take Garou, which started with a clean slate except for Terry. It did well.
I'd like to see more than just 4 new fighters (a mix of 8 old, 8 new would be perfect). With 7 vets already on the roster, I'd say add Alex to that and then go new the rest of the way.
It has to be Sean. Easiest character to make. Blanka would be too obvious.
For SFIII, losing everyone but Ryu & Ken wasn't so bad.
There will always be someone pissed over their favorite getting the axe. Should Capcom see fans of a certain removed character howling in protest, they can always bring that one back later. Take Fatal Fury 3- when SNK made Real Bout & RB Special, more than a few old favorites were quick to return.
None of the Street Fighter Threes were very successful financially, I suspect the Alphas and X-Men vs Street Fighters did many many times the business. Capcom didn't forget that.
Honestly they should throw together at least 8 of the original 16 for final release.
Q garnered about 10% of the vote in every region of the big poll they conducted a while back, hopefully that means something to Capcom. Oro only nabbed something like 1% (although that was also true of birdie, who made it).
Normally I'd be all about having more new characters than old like ARBM, but I just don't trust Capcom to design good characters anymore. I'd like to have at least four characters I'm interested in in the game.
Seems like SFII's popularity got many players a little too attached to the original lineup. If the Alphas did better, some of that is probably due to SFII characters being kept. I can see fans of a certain SFII character snubbing New Generation over their fave's omission, and not giving the 8 new characters a chance.
