With REmake I think they were aiming for cool and just hit "dorky" right in the center.

There almost have to be two categories for remakes: ones that are very faithful to the original and ones that take more liberty. They can be very successful either way, but it's hard to compare the two in terms of how well they're remade.

I know those Castlevania games are "remakes" of 1, 1, and Dracula X...

...but they're not remakes. They're new games. You can tell because they're good.

Now a real remake is that DraculaX disaster that came to the PSP. Worse in every way, especially graphics.

You can tell that one is a remake because it sucks.
