I couldn't even find the thread for this which speaks volumes.
The question is pretty simple: Do you still believe? Several team members have left Team Ico. Is this still a thing?

I still believe. They mentioned it's being moved to the PS4, though.
Is Ueda even in the industry anymore, though?
I do believe that Sony may some day release a game titled The Last Guardian but I don't think it will be anything like this game promised.
Double Helix presents: The Last Guardian: Season 1
Free to Download!
I don't believe. Ueda isn't with Sony anymore, this game was announced like 7 years ago, time to forget.
I'm over it.
this thread sucks
your mom sucks.
bigfoot is programming this right now
If it comes out and is good I'll happily play it. Other than that, I've zero expectations.
If they canned everyone but the artists, the game might actually turn out good.
This is never coming out.
Since they tried taking on Smash Brothers and no one cared, maybe they turned this one into a Mario Party clone for round 2 of disappointment.
*fast forward 6 years and the game actually turns out well*
No more or less dead than before this news.
News floating around is that they're changing the name is all.
Of a game that will never come out.
This shit is for the funny pages.
If you bought a PS3 in anticipation of this game, raise your hand.
I did =[
I upgraded to a Pentium II for Duke Forever
no, I didn't, you suck

I wanna believe.
I can't take another relationship like this.
Sony is STFU-ing. It's The Guardian that's chatting away like we haven't had our trust betrayed one time too many.
I'm sure Scalebound is going to define the "giant ass companion who does all the work" genre before this; plus it will have some weird kid with a strange fucking accent instead of some quiet fucker with horns.
Move on, she's not worth it.
there's ANOTHER rumor that Mark Cerny's team (or whatever) is going to finish it up themselves. i have never hoped for anything more horrible to be true
[edit] i guess good ol' Knack was developed by Sony Whatever Japan so that could be true whether it implies that TLG transforms into fucking Knack or not
I yelped out loud at the teaser and told my wife I was going to set my ps4 on fire if it wasn't this game he was toying at.
lol
Crisis averted!
So it looks like a PS3 game on PS4. After a minute's thought, I've decided I don't care that much. Can't wait!
Seven years and we still don't have a release date though.
I'm not even the same fucking person I was when this was first shown. People on this forum have gotten married, had children, changed professions and even maybe died in the time this has been in development.
Some of it does, but the fur and feathers definitely couldn't have been done on PS3. You can tell I was thinking the same thing as I watched it.
I don't care about the look of the game. I just want to feels around with the big flying kitty.
8-4 Play closed out their pre-E3 episode the other day with this:
Can't see on iPad. What is it?
I like that I can look forward to this again!
I want that Falkor feel in game form. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps5gfcztwr.png
TORIKO IS BACK
This plus Twin Peaks Season 3 means I have to try my best to stay alive at least one more year.
But did anyone else think the feathers looked worse in this video?
Well apparently this looks better than it did on PS3 by virtue of the fact that it actually runs. Ueda copped to the fact that the old PS3 footage we saw was specced up and it didn't really run at a playable framerate on real hardware. The decision to move it to PS4 was actually made very early, 2012, after they just hit a wall with trying to make it work on PS3.
Certainly explains the long silence. They never got to point where they could show gameplay, and then it was moved to their top secret new platform that didn't come out for a couple years.
I can't imagine working on the same project for so long.
The interview reads like there were huge gaps in time when most of Team Ico was actually working on the game. Once they decided to continue to PS4, they waited awhile for the hardware to be finished, then had to rewrite the engine for PS4 because the PS3 architecture was so different. Now that the hardware can handle what's in the design doc, actual progress is being made now.
They're crazy for even bothering to code their own engine at this point.
The game could have been finished ten times by now using something like Unreal Engine.
Can UE handle the fur and what not at the level they need it?
Games don't looks same-ish enough, everything really should be on the exact engine.
This game looks mind-blowingly fantastic. I can't wait to play it!
The timing of this announcement is funny for me, as I just pulled out Shadow of the Colossus last week and finally beat it after all this time.
There are people who mop and clean toilets for 30 years. I'm sure they'd take working on some game over that any day.
Seriously, that's possibly the most "check your privelege"-worthy comment I've ever seen.
Nah. It'd be like cleaning the same toilet, but it never gets any better.
And don't get all deep on me here, assholes.
That's, like, a metaphor for life and stuff.
Aren't we all the asshole of life's toilet?
Your mother is the asshole of life's toilet.
Except they aren't the same thing. These are creative people and successful professionals. There's a reason why companies encourage employees to switch jobs internally frequently.
Look at Bungie. They had jobs for life working on Halo and decided they didn't want to do it anymore. Of course they made a bunch of bullshit but still.

The newest issue of Edge apparently confirms a 2016 release for this, so there's ~5 minutes of Sony's E3 show.
The only confirmation I'll believe is a shrink-wrapped game sitting on a store shelf.
Exactly.
Bbobb's been hurt too many times.
I bought a PS3 for this game.
A very large chunk of the primary development team isn't there anymore.
I feel like developers are a lot like professional sports teams, eventually enough pieces leave that you're just not the same team, even if the name is the same. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were made by the 2006 Chargers. This game might be being made by the 2015 Chargers. I'll be excited when it's actually out and actually delivers.
I'm not the biggest Team Ico fan but they haven't done anything to deserve comparison to the Chargers.
They might be the only two groups on earth that would give up seven TDs to a team led by Steve Young.
Bruh
GET HYPE BITCH.
Wow, it looks so much like Ico now. Beautiful.
That ps2 model for the main character tho...
If that's what it takes for them to finally have a good framerate then so be it.
This is coming out in four months?
If you say so.
I will believe when it's on a shelf. Not a day before.
I won't believe it until it's in somebody else's hands.
Because I won't pay for this trash.
hahahahaha
Oh for the love of fuck.
Diff-Chan was right
also, I think this game is going to suck, but w/e
It looks far worse than KOFXIV, but it seems like nobody wants to say it.
The game looks like a fucking PS2 game, because it is.
Fuck you Japan, you're worthless.
Probably also adding PS4 Pro support to give the protagonist a PS3 character model.
Lol my first thought when they said old games could be patched for PS4 Pro was "I wonder if Last Guardian will be delayed to support this."
It's being delayed but not because of that
It's being delayed because it isn't a game, it's a tech demo for 15 year old hardware.
I was thinking 'these people don't know how to make a game in modern times' but maybe
"Gee, why doesn't the Share button work with this."
"Every time I get a friend notification the system catches fire."
Someone in the Ico office just learned about particle effects yesterday.
