Uh, sure, FYE. Whatever you say.

I should see if FYE has Wolfenstein for $6. I'd play it again on PC for sure.
Yeah, I may have to check that out as well.
Local one had PC games at 90% off and Skylanders at 75% off.
Recent order from Amazon:
WD My Passport Ultra 1TB external hard drive, $57
EZOPower micro-B Y cable $8
Sony 32GB micro SD card, $12
3DS AC adapter, $10
Hori New 3DS XL screen protectors, $9
I've had my eye on that hard drive, so when it dropped to that price and with the Wii games hitting the eShop, I bought it immediately. Plus Amazon had a daily deal on Sony memory cards, so I picked up the 32GB micro SD card that was on sale.
Hooked up the external hard drive to the Wii U using the Y cable, transferred all of the games from the usb flash drive I was using, and downloaded my digital copy of Pikmin 3 thanks to last year's Mario Kart 8 promotion. Also copied my 3DS SD card to the much bigger micro SD card and downloaded all of the games I couldn't fit before, so I imagine all I will need to do is transfer my NNID and licenses to the New 3DS XL.
Added the 3DS AC adapter in the likely event that I sell my old model 3DS XL with its adapter, and hopefully the screen protectors arrive in time for launch.
Recent digital haul:
Metroid Prime Trilogy for $10 on the Wii U eShop, as well as Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Punch-Out!! at their first-week sale price. Also bought 3D After Burner II for the 3DS, and Legend of Mana during its PSN sale.
I still had the email for that Sony memory deal in my inbox earlier this morning and wanted to kick my own ass for not putting two and two together after mentioning buying a micro on here this weekend.

My old tool died just out of warranty. I can't believe Amazon got it to me this quickly, even with Prime.
Grabbed Oniken on steam for $1.59. Paid for by trading cards!
Is it the same as the old tool? If so, it sounds like you just got a year extension on that warranty...
Nah, it's the same company, new model. I wasn't able to find a 808 for sale anymore.
I just tried it out, it fixes some of the flaws of the old one, and I just stripped a nes pcb in like two minutes. :link:
Run along, the adults are talking here.
Linking to what?
hah, I guess I should have paid more attention to what I quoted. The soldering iron.
http://www.amazon.com/Hakko-FR300-05...ords=hakko+300
I stripped a dozen NES PCBs the other night in about an hour. Most of that time was being OCD about cleaning the iron, not actually working. Tee hee. The last time I did a large run like that it took me several weekends to do the same amount.
For soldering iron, I use this:

Mine isn't the digital, but it's the same thing. This is by far my favorite tool ever.
One of my regulars gave me this thing:

I like it very much more than the $20 radio shack pencil I was using before.
Got Madden 15 and Call of Duty Advanced Warfare for $10 each. I wanted to play a season as the Patriots on Madden but they only have the Franchise mode where you can only play as 1 player, GM or coach. I can't fathom why EA removed the season mode for people who don't want to micromanage to get xp for doing stupid shit and only limit to playing as 1 athlete. Traded it in the next day for some eShop cards instead.
EA has been doing that shit with Madden for years now. I bought 13 and it was the same thing. 2K does this shit with basketball too. Why can't I just create a player, sign him to my team, and play a season? NBA Action '98 on the fucking Saturn let me do that.
2K is the worse, the requirement for online for anything basically nuked the disc. I haven't been able to play NBA2K14 in over a month because it cannot contact motherbase... I tried to use offline mode but it would just hang there. Good job 2K, I will never buy one of your games.
The servers for NBA2K14 have been shut down for over a month.

Hurray for modern gaming!
Sports game players really put up with that? Wow.
They buy new versions of each game almost yearly, I say fuck 'em.
I haven't given EA money for sports games in ages. The last EA sports game I bought was used, and that was Madden 11 for the PS3.
Fuck their shitty sports mill!
Madden 15 on Xbox one is pretty amazing compared to previous versions and "plays" differently, Football is football but there is a lot of shit to do and the graphics/presentation are top notch.
But if you don't like football then of course it seems like the same shit every other year.
I get that , to me new cod is just as shitty as old cod since I give no fucks about those either.
Ace Attorney, Witchs Wish, and Trails through various Amazon sales in the past month. Local game store was having a buy two get one free on used. Repurchased a few DC games (welcome back Confidential Mission) and grabbed a bunch of complete $3-4 DS.

I really wanted to like Retro Atari, graffiti plus classic games seems promising. Game feels low budget and thrown together, UI is annoying too. Interested to try Zubo, ugly game but sounds like a good use of touch controls.
From a trade on GTZ:

I picked up Resident Evil 2 for $3 thanks to this week's PSN sale.
Got Castle in the Darkness for review this past week - it's damn near on par with Shovel Knight.
Samus Amiibo.
HTC 816 Desire.
Case.
Tomb Raider on pc.
preordered Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
Buying New 3DS on friday.
Low - is Witch's Wish worth getting? I've had it on my "you should learn more about this" radar for a long time now, but never bothered to actually follow up on that.
For whatever reason I was thinking it would be similar to Magicians Quest/Animal Crossing instead its fairly linear with lots of fetching. Like the more recent Hometown Story there is some charm (the town is very nice) but no where near as fleshed out as other Natsume published franchises.
I might have gotten a proto or review copy of a Genesis game.
I got a copy of Chuck Rock with w Genesis cart, BUT the case and cart are labeled Mega Drive and the case was sealed with a sega sticker.
That or it is a Chinese bootleg.
Melf know about this stuff?
post a pic.
You have the power!
Yeah, It would help if you have a picture.
That looks like just an EU cartridge....In fact yeah I'm 100% sure. that's just some common Megadrive euro cart....
In other news...
Finally located a Gamecube Component Cable for $150.00. Guy sold it to me pretty much what he had into it so while it's not a steal of a price it's a lot less then what these are going for nowadays...
Looking foward to replaying a ton of GC games with this thing. I have a question tho for some of the tech heads here. How does progressive scan actually work in regards to some of the games. I've noticed a lot of 1st party Nintendo titles support this option but I don't quite follow how it works..
All the megadrive carts I've seen look different. Shiner and with ridges.
Though from looking on UK ebay, it does look like Core mixed and matched the parts for Chuck Rock
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chuck-Rock...-/321647242339
I wonder how many of these got shipped to the US
Yeah, they made it easier on wii.
nintendo loves over complicating shit. Ever try to clear space on an n64 memory card?
Looks like I remembered correctly.http://ramblings.narrabilis.com/howt...tendo-gamecube
You have to plug in a cartridge that makes use of the memory card (which is in the controller obviously), hold down the start button, and then turn the power on. Not complicated, but who would ever know what to do unless they were told?
I think I have GC component cables laying around. I should probably sell those.
Sell the GCN component cables, buy a wii u and play the GCN games through homebrew. Looks fantastic.
I dont understand why anyone would pay 150 for a cable when you could get a wii with component cables for half that.
But to each their own!
(And lol to anyone that says "gameboy player!")
I was able to argue that until I bought that PVM.
I sold that shit though, so lol $150 cables.
More like lol $250/$300 cables now...
Yeah any GC games I go back to will either be through my Wii, a future Wii U, or emulation. The GC itself is never getting hooked back up. I might've already given the system away, I don't know.
Would the wii component cables not work with The PVM? What arent I understanding?
Holy shit, I wish I had that cable still.
It's actually different. Just inside the cable is a custom IC that converts the strangely encoded digital signal to an analog one. Sadly you can't simply pull YCbCr from the port, and you can't just use a regular dac to make it analog. Reason behind this? Nintendo being Nintendo making sure they were the only ones who could make this cable and thus keep 100% of the profits for themselves. However, there are a few brave/bored souls who are attempting to clone the cable...
http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=51450
Generally tho this seems kinda a fucking sideways way of doing it but yeah. Also while I know most people don't care too much of the difference but it's sadly already known that the Component output signal for the Nintendo GameCube is actually better than the Wii.
Attachment 76006
This image comparison was taken from a thread over at shmups.com forums. While it can be argued that the Wii screenshot is out of focus, notice the shadow edges on the gold metalic areas of the Wii screen. There is clearly some sort of filter being applied to the 480p output from the Wii.
P.S. Chux, a PVM I'll eventually get one day but for now I'm very happy to have gotten this cable without taking it too far up the ass like some people have been.
When did sega gen games go up? Everything I want is like 30 to 60
A long time ago. Welcome to the world of everyone trying to recapture their childhood along with a bunch of hipsters kiddies getting into the older stuff because it makes them look cooler to their peers. The market blew up a long time ago and titles which weren't worth dick *outside of sports games cuz lol @ sports games having any value* are now highly in demand if it even seems that everyone wants it or has a low print run which in turn has drove the market thru the roof.
Melf's collection alone could probably buy a car in the condition it is in since he started collecting before everyone lost their fucking minds and started paying stupid prices for complete Toejam and Earl games.
What the fuck is the deal with musha? Sure, the first level is wonderful but fuck if it doesn't drag in the middle.
Not without a conversion of some form. I was just saying I'd love to make fun of people shelling out that money, but shouldn't since I spent money (although a LOT less) on a very specific monitor to make my games look incredible and bought modded cables to do so.
When I sold the PVM though I made my money back at least 3x though.
*edit* should have read the thread further already discussed.
I have both Component cables (which my GC is hooked up with) and a pair of VGA cables I had made from my first component cables for it, since I didn't have a TV that did 480 progressive at the time. Wonder what the VGA cables could go for.
Sega-16! There's this thread for custom inserts for games with cardboard boxes, this thread for homebrew and hacks, and this one for standard inserts and manuals. We have them for both universal and standard clamshell cases.
Word! I got MUSHA for $6 and all of a sudden it's the cost of a kidney. And Double Dragon is $50+? WTF? I'm happy my collection has taken a huge jump in value, but it really sucks for people who want to start collecting. Just when SEGA stuff is finally getting appreciated, it has to get retarded Nintendo prices.
Oniken (PC) - $1.59 from Steam
I remember when musha was 18 and I loled and thought I'd wait it out.
You could always buy the Virtual Console version and actually give money to someone other than some reseller asshat.
A Nintendo asshat?
Who even owns the property now?
NAXAT it appears.
Got outbid on this while driving home

Really wanted that Granada manual and Burning Force. (Silently screaming from my asshole)
Was on a business trip today and found Zelda Wind Waker HD Wii U $22 at a Shopko Hometown. My area store is still at $35.
Grabbed eVolve (PS4) to play with a friend who is on a work trip for 2 weeks and another friend who is on a work trip until the middle of March. I could have waited. But now I'm going to be better than them. MASTERPLAN.
You could have accomplished the same thing by buying the PC version. :p
No no, he said Master Plan, not Race.
lol I almost added MASTERRACE at the end, but I figured that would be too heavy handed.
Got Game & Watch Gallery 3 for 3DS VC and ordered Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. I also plan to get 3D Fantasy Zone tomorrow.
Back from a long hiatus, before they closed their offices, uncovered some protos used at a certain magazine for reviews. I'm not certain what is different for some of these...

Nah man, the GB Player runs most games like shit, regardless of what cables/TV you're using. It adds lots of slowdown and screen flicker that doesn't exist on the native GBA/GB/GBC hardware.Quote:
It's cool to have GBA games on component. It's not $150 cool though.
Gamecube/Wii component cables don't have the extra "sync" cable that you need to get an image to display on a PVM. They only have the Red/Green/Blue cables.

3D Fantasy Zone. Man up.
I left my 3DS charger at Alicia's when I was sick last week, so I won't be able to man up on the manliest game until after work tonight. Shame and sorrow.
Got it, been playing it.
It's great.
I gots 3D Fantasy Zone. Good stuff.
Picked up Tomb Raider Definitive for PS4 because it's been a while and it was a REALLY good game (and about the perfect length), looking forward to burning through it again.
If I score nothing else tonight, at least I am going home with a new wii goldeneye/gold classic controller pro/ t shirt bundle for $10.
I have Evolve on PS4! If anyone needs a Medic, let me know. It'd be great if we had enough people to make up a full TNL team.
