I couldn't get into Shenmue at all. I understand the technical marvel it was for when it came out, but it's just so clunky to me.

No one bought into the hype more than I. But the control sucked, the voice acting was final fantasy x laughing scene bad, and the only fun i had was playing the arcade games.
To be fair, me and sandbox stuff have never gotten along. But Shenmue wasn't very good.

I liked the 1st game quite a bit. It sucked when you had to ask around for the location of sailors and run a booth for someone, but the rest was really cool.
I've never finished Shenmue 2. I got tired of trying to raise money for the Heavens gang.

For me the only issue with the first one was resolved in the second, and that was being able to fast forward time. Now, I played them both immediately on release, so maybe if I played them again now, I'd feel differently.

I played through Shenmue 1 fairly recently. I still love it, although Shenmue 2 made many changes for the better, especially pacing.

We need PC versions of them, because I'm never going back to the Dreamcast and what little is left of its exclusive lineup.

lol I don't have space for 20 consoles anymore, and when I do I'm going to be using it on arcade machines.
