Got this a couple of weeks ago, but I've been busy and haven't posted it. I decided to get a Laserdisc player, mostly because I was curious and the price was right and it came with a shitload of movies.

Not going to list them all, but there's some good shit in there. The unmolested Star Wars trilogy, Commando, the Terminators, Criterion Robocop, Alien, and a fuckload of mostly 80's and 90's action movies. And Casablanca.
Haven't had a chance to watch much though. Ah time, I need some.
Oh, laserdisk, when the best movies were for the man of high taste. Not now, when dvds and blurays are wasted on 5 dollar bins at walmart.
Have fun. I had a very very similar haul about 12 years ago. Sold them when I had to move because the movies weighed a ton and DVDs were getting cheap.

I've since cleaned the heck out of it. The scuffs and scrapes bum me out, but it's 20 years old. I'd love to find new graphics to go on the back of the seats at least.

First thing i did was pop the glass out and clean it and the monitor. There was a thick layer of black dust coating both. Picture really pops now!

I dont think this is the same unit you saw in Syracuse. It had buffalo amusement stickers on it and a rochester arcade license. Dude seemed like a straight shooter. Said he got it two years ago by trading a couple of four wheelers for it. Now he wanted a 4 wheeler again. When testing it out, he certainly played like he knew what he was doing (as opposed to someone that bought it to flip).

Picked up Metro: Redux for PS4 because it was $20 and I have always wanted to try these games, been sick for a few days and have a few more off so figured it would be a good time to dig in before THE game comes out.
Play an iso file in an emulator. There’s your digital Saturn game. If the legality bothers you, buy the game, easily make your own backup with a freeware program, and destroy the CD. There’s your legal digital copy. That would be dumb but so is worrying about pirating out of print games and settling for a weaker version of a game.Quote:

I've been collecting first edition D&D stuff as well. I have all the hardcover books, and now I'm collecting modules. I love reading these again! My brother and I used to play in the early to mid '80s, and we play now when we visit each other. It's a ton of fun!

Played through the Genesis Double Dragon port that Gohan sold me for a very generous price. It's pretty good! It's not arcade perfect but it's still fun and co-op works well.
As much as that and the Master System version get shit on these days, there certainly were far worse arcade ports at the time.
I played the shit out of the arcade and was the first one in my little town to beat it on one quarter (by spamming the elbow of course). I thought the MS version was great at the time.
I hate the MS version. The fighting itself is too fucked up for it to be any fun. It turns Double Dragon into Bayou Billy.
