ESPN has taken Colin Cowherd off the air for stating facts that were taken out of context by some joke blog. That network is completely out of control.
Ironically, their web site had a video clip of him explaining himself (well I might add) up this afternoon. That seems to have been taken down too.
edit: lol He had apparently already announced he was leaving, so this is typical symbolism over substance.
Word is out that the Mets are close to getting Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson from the Braves.
That's a completely unexciting word.
Going to have to hear what Cowherd said because they way I saw it paraphrased, it was pretty bad. Maybe not 'fired from ESPN' bad (but that's because he was leaving for FOX, who now has a situation on their hands), but not good.
Simmons, Olbermann and Cowherd all leaving. Olbermann actually might be leaving on better terms than either of the other two, which is amazing (although I don't actually know that)
Gonna go watch Greinke (probably) poop in the Mets' mouth tomorrow. :(

yea but Japan has a really good educational system and people like baseball there.
It's a really stupid thing to say and he said it all wrong. If he wanted to just call ballplayers morons in general he wouldn't have caught that heat, and he would've been right. I can't remember the last time I heard a baseball player say anything worth a damn.
He said that too though. He said something like 4% of baseball has a college degree, and that includes the managers and coaches. I can't remember if it was part of the original 57 second rant or his explanation today.
His argument wasn't that you had to be uneducated to like baseball; it was that you don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand it.
Yea but then he tied it to the educational system of DR. There's no correlation between educational system quality and like of baseball. Like I said that was a dumb thing to say. It's not like it is something he thought of ahead of time. Cowherd's gonna cowherd I guess.
I do agree that ESPN suspended him to wound the guy before his ass leaves.
Like had nothing to do with it though. He was rebutting people who claim that he or others just don't "get it" with regard to baseball, because it's somehow so hard to fully grasp.
It was admittedly far from his most eloquent argument, but no reasonable person would have been offended by that. Hell, if you substitute US public schools for the DR, no one would have batted an eye.
