I think part of the problem is that after four games, the initiated understand how to use and exploit the mechanics so well that each installment seems increasingly easy. Reading enemy body language is second nature at this point and most of the new bits of ambush trickery are easily anticipated after years of warily peeking around corners over a raised shield.
Mind you, none of that actually diminishes the experience for me. I don't think I'd ever really tire of this formula, so long as the visual and sound design remained consistent.
I loved Demon's Souls and I JUST started playing Dark Souls. I gotta say, I'm not really digging Dark Souls so far, but I've only beaten the Taurus Demon and haven't gotten that far.
This is a issue with monster hunter also. those of us that have played every single installment know what to look for. so people constantly say its gotten easier. when in reality we have just gotten better and better at the game. you'll see people right after them complain about how hard some monster is, and how they dont know how people solo things. and im like "i solo everything".
So was that Maneater Mildred right there in the beginning of Road of Sacrifices? I always liked her, that's pretty cool. Maybe she'll come back to help with a boss again.
