This is why I have my PS2 hooked up to the CRT. I like the inclusion of 240p, but it would have been nice if it supported multiple resolutions.

I'd blame my TV, but it seems to be exclusively Neo games I have problems with. Capcom Classics, Alpha Anthology, no worries. Any PS2 or Wii VC Neo Geo port = pfff.
/oh and the Mega Man X collection.
Bottom 2/3rds is green/black digital garbage, top 1/3 is a squished image.
If there's a way to force the PS2 to boot into a different display mode I haven't found it.
Your tv can't handle 240p from that input. The Capcom collections (except for X) output 480I.
Blame the tv, not SNK. On a crt they would look a lot better than the 480I collections.
There is...I had to boot into alt mode when I had my PS2 hooked up to my little 1080s monitor.
I blame both. Authenticity is cute until it becomes a problem, at least make it optional. Worst case I can just boot the game onto a pc emulator no problem, but so lame. Do you recall how you did it? Google Fu is bringing mixed results.
Nope. It was something about holding a bunch of buttons while booting up.
Problem is the games boot to the menu at 480 then switch over when you select the game.
Take a walk around your neighborhood the night before trash day. I'd bet you'd find yourself a CRT.
