Thanks to a tip from the neo-geo.com forums, I picked up some mailing boxes from Staples that work perfectly for PCB storage. I got the 15 1/8" x 11 1/8" x 2", but I am going to need to go back and get some 15 1/8" x 11 1/8" x 4" as well for Irem M92 and MVS boards. Now to create some custom labels...
That's probably the most exciting haul I have ever read about.

Would you like to hear about how I went back and got a pack of the 15 1/8" x 11 1/8" x 4" boxes? Spoiler: It was part of a waste of two hours where Home Depot claimed they had five of a door handle in stock but cancelled my in-store pickup order after figuring out they had none.
Lol that is interesting. I bought a hedge trimmers at the Home Depot the other day. Made a nice little Sunday out of it.
I played some slot machines and ate pancakes.
Took advantage of some really good trade deals at GameStop. Paid off the remainder of my XB1 Elite controller and got enough Xbox bucks to digitally pre-order the Rare Collection, Gears, and Black Ops III.

Ordering a replacement remote to fix the eternal "VIDEO 4" in the corner, as the one that came with the set wouldn't work even after taking it apart and cleaning it up. Weird remote with this TV, has a flip-up part like a Star Trek communicator.
Everything designed with high res monitor HD in mind looks like burnt crap (menus in FF are a big culprit), but 2D pixely games look amazing.
I think that's a Sony thing from that era. I had an old Sony HD projection TV and it was like that but the flip-up part was on the bottom (like a tricorder!).Quote:

Turning on the Arranged soundtrack for Special is rad as hell after playing 2 with the standard OST.
I enjoyed Fatal Fury 1 a whole lot, there's a lot of nice touches. The game kind of uses Geese to teach you how the counter mechanic works, prior to which it's just this useless button. Changes the game on a second playthrough! Then they ditch that mechanic entirely for the sequel.
It's not a counter, it's a throw. You can use it any time you want.
It is a counter, you can catch Geese's roundhouse with it consistently. Rather like Geese's counter in that they operate exactly the same.
Doubles as a throw, that's fine too.

I did not know that. I've been playing that game for years.
Ha! I'm seeing it from the other side, I guess. Damn smart way to introduce the mechanic, you use it on Geese and blast through him, otherwise he counters your ass to the moon if you try to play offensively. The 'button description' at the start of the game doesn't even explain what the button is for properly.
My method for fighting him is to try to jumpkick him (or jump at him and throw upon landing) and once he's down throw a power wave that will hit him when he gets up. Repeat.
The counter thing is the truth, just jump everything and counter. I was one chip damage away from a double perfect last time.

He did! They are a fine shoe. I wore my old pair of Chrome lowtop shoes out, I glued the soles back on and got months more out of 'em.

Don't have my Neo in front of me, but I believe you can press Start + ABC (or BCD?) simultaneously to bring up the unibios menu, tell it to reset. Hold down BCD to get into the the softdip menu, change blood to red. The setting should be saved in the memory of the MVS unless you play more than 8 games after Slug (not a problem at the moment.)

I'm really excited about the Breyfogyle collection. I loved his run on DC back in the day, and it's great to have it some of the best stories in one collection. Hopefully, they'll release his entire run. I just got into the Walking Dead, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I never had a chance to read the whole series in order before. The Super Villain team-up is some '70s campy fun.

Asian. Mexican are orange. It is possible that the US version has free play, but it's also at least $100 more. That's a lot of ¥100 coins.

Yoshi, the coin mech doesn't have a metal bar or something that you can just flick for credits?
It probably does. I gave it 30 seconds worth of effort when I was testing the board, but it was relatively dark, and I couldn't find the spot to flick.
There should be a little wire on a spring at the bottom of the coin shoot. The coin flicking it down as it drops is what registers your credit. You can flick it as much as you like for however many credits you want.

I've definitely given thought to getting some rotary sticks. I'd be more likely to use them on Forgotten Worlds though. However, the Japanese version of Guerilla War, even on Famicom, is interesting by comparison.

Japantown in SF has a Taiko Drum Master arcade machine. It is amazing.
Picked up a Panasonic CLD-V700 Laserdisc player off eBay for $50, still in factory plastic. Drove down to San Jose and picked it up, got copies of Hard Boiled, Yojimbo, True Lies, and Point Break to go with it. Nice morning!
