Lemmy is dead.
Naive indicates it's simple wishful thinking when it's simply not. It's based on boots-on-the-ground qualitative research and quantitative data. Better yield from crops, better gender equality, and accessible banking will make massive differences.
Didn't a few TNLers point out he wasn't looking so hot a few months ago?
Drew sounds like he turned into a TED talk.
Yes, banking will solve the problems of the poor.
Long lasting problems like poverty are not solved by finance, politics or law.
They are solved by 1 to 1 action. By the haves getting involved in the lives of the halve nots. Thats why universal education did as much as it did to lower poverty. Teachers were getting involved in the lives of their children for at least 6 to 8 hours a day.
But I don't see much changing. America hates its poor. The haves don't really want to get involved in their lives on a personal level.
People getting off their 'own' ass and getting involved in another human's life.
'You' finding a poor person and helping them.
I meant it much broader than just American poor. Even poor Americans have better quality of life than most in less developed nations. I also don't know why someone would assume finance and banking have no effect on poverty.
