There is no reason for individuals to own machine guns. Start a war museum if you want to actually preserve history (a relic sitting in a closet isn't nearly as informative).
I have an old pineapple grenade from WW2 and a German grenade but they've been defused. So you could take the firing pin out too.
When you need to mow down your oppressors, a fully automatic gun makes the odds a bit more in your favor. But since you are a Canadian and sucking off the Queen's tit, I can see how you couldn't understand this.

Assuming your nutball theory correct It's probably strategically idiotic to think large highly immobile weapon that requires a lot of logistics would be a good strategy against a fighting force that bombs the shit out of big threats long before any troops are in the area.
By that same token the USA should have 'won' in Afghanistan and Iraq. The insurgency long-game seems to be working out just fine with machine guns and IEDs.
I mean tons of their people died, but the US has completely failed at killing the idea.

Is anyone following the gun laws Obama enacted? From what I read they are just stricter background checks. What legitimate argument is there against them? Doesn't everyone want to keep guns out of the wrong hands while also allowing law abiding and responsibile citizens to wield them?
